WTF is wrong with our boxers and their obsession with p4p like its a real belt and award... how about just concentrating on winning against kotelnik first and making a few defenses before you get your p4p certificate..signed by ronald mcdonald

WTF is wrong with our posters and their obsession with what boxers, or more accurately their PR men say to the press? how about just concentrating on what a fighter does in the ring first before getting all excited about PR tripe and starting tedious threads.....signed by Khaosai Galaxy

Coming out with statements like this
"Freddie said to me that within two years, when I hit my peak at 24, he will have made me a machine. I will be a machine where no one will touch me and I will be one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world"
The kid is deluded, simple as that. In two years, Pacquaio will only be 32 and can you imagine what he would do to Khan. The simple truth, is that there are many fighters out there who could beat Khan and beat him in style and whilst ever he has that glass chin, he will never amount to very much, in terms of becoming an elite fighter. He has the speed and accuracy to beat a lot of guys and some like Kotlenik are world champions, but they are fights that are hand picked, but if Khan opened himself to a "all comers" approach, he would'nt go another three fights without getting sparked. He has'nt got the all round attributes that are needed to get to the top level and the fact that he has not won the British or European titles, says a lot about the confidence that his management have in him, including Freddie Roach.

Mate, i actually like the kid and wish him success but it's a two way street..when boxer's or their pr men make delusional claims before having achieved a lot in the ring, you cannot expect people not to level some criticism or laugh a bit. You would think he would have humbled a bit since the Prescott loss..The comments are attributed to him hence I took em at face value and found it funny hence I posted it. It was just a bit of fun no malice intended.....signed err Freddie kruger

In two year will Roach even be able to affectively train? How debilitating is his Parkinsons going to be?

Thats a good point I can never see Khan being great he's got good skills but i think he lacks power and has a china chin if he fights Bradley Bradley's over hand right would have Khan on his backside i think if he fights the best at LWW or LW he will get beat

If he wins the title off Kotelnik .. and defends succesfully against Victor Ortiz .. then he`ll make me a believer. But untill then I`ll carry on with my opinion that he`s a delusional hype-job.

The kid aint deluded. What do you expect him to come out and say.
"Freddie told me that he thinks I'm not going anywhere. He thinks that I have gone right for the easiest champion out there in order to get a world title cos I might struggle against the likes of Murray for the British Title, and once I win it, I will defend it against people who cant punch and come up a weight or two so I don't get knocked out, this way the general public will think that I am one of the best pound for pound boxers in the World"
If he said that, then you would all criticise him for it. All fighters hype themselves up. At the end of the day they earn their money from the general public, so they have got to convince the general public that they are the best and that they should pay to watch them.
Now I'm gonna get down off my soapbox.

Its just p*ssing me off that over the last few weeks all everyone seems to do on this forum is slag everyone off.
Anyway.......lol
Yeh maybe Khan hasn't got the best chin in the World, I'm not his biggest fan, but I like to watch him in the ring. He's good offensively, has got quick hands and decent power and I hope he does go on a win a few World Titles.

You have a point and quite an obvious one, about Khan appealing to the public, but i'd prefer him to keep his mouth shut and prove his point in the ring. He sounds ridiculous, coming out with statements that can't be backed up. Carl Froch has just beaten Jermain Taylor, but he does'nt talk that way and is refreshingly honest about his weaknesses and you can believe in what he says, but people will still tune in because Carl is an exciting fighter, not because he talks bull. Khan has'nt fought anyone of note, mostly blown up featherweights, has only won the commonwealth title, been dropped by ordinary journeymen and got sparked out by a virtual unknown. So when he comes out with statemants like he does and for whatever reason, he deserves to be backed up about it, because on the evidence so far, he is talking nonsense and yes, i do think he is deluded.

Khan is already at the top of a pound 4 pound top list - for the worst chin of any rated contender.

I will never be convinced by Khan until he gets hit with a cracker and it bounces off his chin with no effect,it's not the fact that prescott sparked him, because most fighters would have gone down from that,it's the way he was badly hurt by Limmond and Gomez that prove he is made from the very finest bone china, good to look at but very fragile if knocked.I honestly hope that Kotelnik beats the crap out of him because i'm fed up with all these manufactured champions avoiding even british title fights, robbing the paying public of all those great domestic matches that we used to get so often it the eighties and early nineties, blame the promoter or the fighter, the fact is the matches we all want are not happening now and that saddens me. :(

Exactly what do you expect him to say?
Whenever other boxers have aspirations its ok, but when it's Khan, he's "Delluded"?

i hope he gets exposed cause fwank is trying to get him an easy way to world title against a weak champion or so he thinks fwankster has robbed the public of good domestic fights... ( murray thaxton ) i hope it back fires spectaculary

so you would have actually preferred Murray & Thaxton opposed to BARRERA & Kotwatisface
those two fights he has taken are a hell of alot harder than Murray & Thaxton FFS

Khan is just a hype job - a celebrity boxer.
I was flicking through the Argos book the other day and Amir Khan was posing with all the boxing equipment
Bedis Presscott would never have commercial deals like that
I think Khan is one of them fighters who have had it all too easy - not the making of a solid pro
Good amateur - still only young - but I feel he has not got the substance of a solid pro
Even fighters like Manny Pac came who earn millions came up in a much more real and raw way
Khan is a pampered celebrity - and I just feel his talent alone is not enough - he lacks other solid qualitys needed

they did offer thaxton over £100k but they wouldnt go to purse bids cause giving thaxton 60% of the purse just aint fair, cause he only brings in 0,00001% of the revenue
Murray fair point but... rival promo's dont help
whats happened with Murray anyways, has he retired ??
