news is pickin up of a Katsidis, hatton fight in the uk,there was talk with the hatton camp before the Manny Pacquiao fight
Australian Michael Katsidis hopes a mouth-watering matchup against Ricky Hatton will still go ahead despite the British boxer's crushing loss to Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas last weekend.`I believe it's still a very good chance of happening. Knowing Ricky, I don't think he would want to finish his career like that,'' Smith said.
Smith said no date or venue had been discussed for the proposed fight.
Katsidis would have no fears about fighting Hatton in Manchester as his last five bouts have all been overseas.
The former WBO interim lightweight world champion won over British fight fans back in 2007 when he stopped Englishman Graham Earl in five rounds in one of the fights of the year.
``We are not concerned about going to Ricky Hatton's backyard because we've taken our show on the road for the last two years,'' Smith said.
``Michael has a fan base all over the world.''

in all honesty this fight probably wouldnt have gone ahead had hatton beat pacman.
i would definately like to see this fight though...hatton should come down here and do it in brisbane

There built for each other,rushing in head first with no defence just an incredable workrate:perfect fight of attricion,only question is katzidis cuts (stoppage)but otherwise tuff! Fight'fans delight,and what a scalp for katzidis if the ball bounces his way.Hard to pick a winner as they're both a punches chance.Eff it I'll go katzidis,time will tell:!

nice idea. but i don't think this was ever going to happen. if hatton had beat manny only the biggest and best names would have done. Kat is becoming a fan fav' but not a big dollar draw card yet. Kat is still a little away from maega fight status

Cant see it happening if it does i would favour Katsidis hes aged better than Hatton but i dont want to see Hatton in the ring again

Hatton has only lost two fights, both against P4P topliners. I think he would still draw a crowd.

After being brutally KO'd in two rounds I highly doubt many people outside the UK would part with their hard earned to see him headline another PPV against a top puncher...
I know I wouldn't.
