The Craig McEwan v Brian Vera fight in Fort Worth, Texas tonight is live on ESPN2. Does anyone know how it can be watched live on-line in the UK?

I hope Craig does well. He receives zero coverage in the Scottish press.

My dad is from Donegal and all of my mother's side are Irish to. I was actually discussing McEwan with my dad tonight funnily enough and how if he was an Irish or even English boy making a name for himself stateside he would be getting a lot of support but sadly young McEwan doesn't get sweet FA.
Ricky Burns has garnered pretty positive press feedback ever since his brave but losing effort to Alex Arthur. Obviously Arthur gained a lot of props as he won virtually everything going. And Scott Harrison was always well covered. Especially in the last couple of years where his wacky escapades are never out of the papers. :DDD
Wille Limdond has also garnered a lot of column inches in the Glasgow publications at least and his near winning effort against Amir Khan boosted that.
Appleby was also hailed as a bit of a golden boy though as I suspected it was all far too much too soon.
However McEwan along with John Simpson and Kevin Anderson never get any decent PR it seems. I know that Craig has not actually achieved anything yet unlike the other two but IMO it takes a lot of balls to go over to the states and give it a go and learn your craft. I think it helped to really develop Eubank and Steve Collins. Hope it does to for McEwan. :TU:

good result. vera is ranked #13 by the IBF. will this result get him ranked by a sanctioning body?

its a shame he doesnt get enough press over here by the scottish press. i think ther has been the odd couple of inches but the only paper that does give him a lot is the edinburgh evening news (in the past when i've googled for info, most results from that)

at the moment i'd say he is the best prospect we (scotland) have and vera is imo a better test than he could have got back home. at british level, id fancy him to be champion but doubt he will fight for a british title and expect him to go for a north american strap very soon.

well done craig doing scotland proud (not that many people will know!)

The one time I have seen McEwan I wasn't really impressed, but this win has opened my eyes.

Can this kid go far?

Same here. Maybe we saw the same fight (vs Hilario Lopez)? McEwan looked like he had very little pop in that fight, though he did show some nice skills.

A win over Vera is very good for a prospect. Vera is tough, has decent power and good stamina.

Maybe McEwan's promoter could get him a fight with Billy Lyell (the guy who recently beat John Duddy).

Yeah, it was Lopez. It was like McEwan didn't know what stance suited him better. He kept changing it mid-fight and he was getting caught. I don't know if he's a natural switch-hitter or whether he was trying something out (I hope it's the latter).

Duddy is lining up a rematch in Ireland I think.

Then maybe McEwan v both Irish guys - maybe if they fight him at the same time "we" would have a better chance! :D
