I think he could do with a "routean" defence after his last two, then he can go beat up Bute and Bika before the big one against Kessler... that works in my head anyhow.

Oh I notice Pascal is fighting for the Vacant WBC light heavyweight title, what would it say for forch's reputation if he wins this one?

I can't believe he is fighting for the vacant WBC title, that would be ridiculous. He's fighting that Romanian/Canadian guy. If he wins that's a good win, but more likely he has been picked as an easy to make voluntary.

I would love to see the Lucan Bute made for Froch and that fight is possible with Hennessy's strong connections in Canada.

Froch/Green would be a terrific fight in Nottingham. ITV would just have to show his stonking KO over Cordington to get joe public tuning in.
Green's got a lot of attitude as well, so the press conf would be a good un. A real dangerman, though Carl would be odds on to do him in a thriller...

Stay away from BIKA unless BIKA brings a belt.

Green seems like a credible fighter, but is a step down from the likes of Pascal and Taylor. I think if the Hopkins fight can be made, then that is the one to go for, because there won't be opportunites further down the line to fight him. Hopkins is coming off one of the best performances of his career and most people favour him to win. That's why it's the perfect fight for Froch.

I don't believe in soft, hometown defences or tuneups. A real champion should always face the best possible challenger. Otherwise he is no champion.

Allan Green was one of the soundest blokes in Connecticut.

He came into the bar where all the Froch supporters where at Foxwoods and had a pitcher with them and chatted for a long while.

Really approachable bloke and nothing like the press make him out.

A veggie too :D

Froch has just come through 2 life n death thrillers - I would personally be looking for a softer touch than Green for his next fight if I was match maker: either a faded name past his best, a smaller fighter coming up in weight or a fringe contender.

Green is a good fight for the fans and paying public but I just feel as though Froch could do with a less demanding outing before stepping back up to the plate..

Carl says he's not fussed about bums though or easy wins. He justs wants big fight after big fight.

He's wants to go Canada to tonk Lucian Bute next and has told everyone involved to 'make it happen'.

I agree though Terry !

Although I applaud that attitude, I think it's slightly naive and at the top level it is better for him to take an easier one next. I don't think any boxer can go through tough fight after tough fight without the body/mind having some sort of reaction at some point.

I'd do an easier one next within 4 months, follow up quickly from the Taylor win, then do a bigger name again, but I'm sure whatever happens it's gona be great fun to watch.

there won't be enough money to make Hopkins and Froch is contracted to Showtime for another fight. I think with Green scoring a spectacular KO on Froch-Taylor undercard, it's natural to make this fight.

I believe that as champ Froch can make improvements but if he doesn't, Green could land some bombs early and have him out of there. Definitely a dangerous fight, as Green has the firepower if not the resolve. So I'd like to see this one.

Pascal and Taylor were excellent tough fights, and if Froch fights Green then Ward these are some very solid, very credible and potentially very excitng title defences.

nice one, Froch v Bute looks like the big fight at 168 given that Kessler has disappeared.

Bet froch would have to go over there!

Guys we keep discussing Froch's next fight time and again but as he won the vacant title he has to do two mandatories back to back. So its whoever Don Jose tells him isn't it?

yeah it'll be the ward v miranda winner (next week's fight) but hopefully froch is allowed to fit a voluntary in. green is #9 in he current WBC rankings

i know what you mean Terry but depends on the opponent, for me.

Bute, i think, would be a good compromise between elite level/ challenging, and at the same time, winnable.

Bute got a scare from the Andrade fight. the next time he sees a stone-cold Terminator type fighter coming at him relentlessly, i think he's liable to fight scared and not commit to his shots. on that basis even if Froch lost i don't think it would be a tough fight per se.

stylistically, btw, i think Froch would end up looking horrible against a skilled elite-level lefty, but may well just be able to outwork and out-gut Bute.

I'm not so sure about a Ward/Green type fight

froch will walk through green. This is the guy who very nearly got KOed by journeyman Donnie McCrary. how is he going to survive 12 rounds of hard artillery from Froch?

green has a couple of brutal stoppages, particularly codrington and de leon jr.

i like this fight as green hits very hard. he won't stand up to pressure, but if he lands some big shots it would get very interesting. i feel he has a better chance of hurting froch than pascal or taylor.

Don't think Green hits as hard as Showtime are making out. He took 8 rounds vs a shot Carl Daniels, a guy Andy Lee erased with one shot in 3 rounds. Plus everyone knew Deleon was chinny. You can see Green doesn't have chilling power, at least nothing Froch cant handle. I don't think Green hits a lot harder than Taylor to be honest despite looking physically more like a puncher.

I would love for this to happen. I know Carl wants to fight the best all the time, but it wouldn't hurt for him to naturally grow into a world champion. It showed very early Vs Taylor and I wouldn't like to see what someone of Hopkins ilk would do to him. Green, then Bute.

If Carl can go to America to fight Taylor, then Bute in Canada shouldn't be a problem, especially with Hennessy's contacts over there. It's also a fight I think Carl could win via knockout. If Andrade can get to Bute like that, then I'm sure as hell Froch can.

I'm not saying he's a modern day Julian Jackson or anything. Green's career seemed to be going nowhere in the Ravelo and Daniels fights. He was smothering his shots too much and looking disinterested. He's since found a different promoter and seems more motivated. When he gets the room to throw his left hooks and right hands he can be devastating.

If Froch is open Green will hurt him. I think Green is a natural 168 pounder and will be hitting harder than Taylor. Also, he will be more accurate than Pascal. I see this as a dangerous fight, and one to look forward to.
