I have got a busy summer of sport coming up and am getting a few flags done up to support my various men. including under-rated Warwickshire batsman Jim Troughton not that anyone's interested

anyways for the Haye fight I'm really wanting to have some sort of 'comic' World War 2 twist to it.

something like:

'Hayemaker: bombs away in Germany'

or 'Haye Air Force: German Tour 2009'

with Germans hardly being known for sense of humour would that be going too far? i don't really want to cause a riot...

any other suggestions, or is taking a flag into a sporting event the kind of guache childish thing you frown upon? all suggestions appreciated

Why don't you have a big banner with Haye sitting in a Lancaster dropping bombs on Dresden? I'm sure the Germans won't mind that at all.

No it's not childish, do it please and youtube it for the lads...........go all out at the venue with a massive banner of Haye holding the Clits severed heads.

I would use a Halifax and not a Lancaster. and it would be Berlin, not Dresden.

Not the player he was at his peak to be honest when he was very good. I mean a year or so back he couldnt even get in to Warwickshire's first team. I like him as a player (I'm a warwickshire fan) but unfortunately hes not underrated, he's just not much more than a solid county pro, and certainly IMO behind Bell, Trott, Ambrose and Westwood when it comes to Warwickshire batsmen.

Back on topic, a humourous, risque flag would be perfect for this fight.

Well I'll be taking my Millwall one if it comes back from Leeds in one piece on Thursday night!

I lived in Germany for 14yrs when my Dad was in the RAF the Germans can take a joke about the war alright, as long as it doesnt involve anything about the holocaust or nazis. i think showing a lancaster bomber blowing up Berlin is one of those jokes that could go either way, they may laugh, but if they give you a star to wear on your shirt then you probably shouldnt go anywhere that looks like a shower.

Motorhead played a gig in Dresden a few years back, and had a lancaster bomber suspended above the crowd...

He opened the show by pointing up to it and saying "Bet it's a while since you've seen one of these"

Well, cliched isn't exactly the adjective that would put me off.

15 square miles completely levelled and 40,000 dead point to some other adjectives that one could call upon to make an argument against a Dresden flag.

Come on, don't let the side down. Something other than the war.

The Klitschko heads would get you on TV, for instance.
