The consistant Sharkey circles rings around Vitali. The inconsistant Sharkey either fouls out or gets KTFO. Heads, Sharkey, Tails, Klitschko =flips a coin= Whaddya know? :oo Sharkey! :TU:

What exactly is a "Gob" anyways?

When I wikipediaed the term I got this:

Gob may refer to:

* Mouth
* Whoopie pie, a type of dessert food
* Gob (band), a punk band from Vancouver, BC, Canada
* Gob, the king of the gnomes in folklore
* Gob or boney piles, low-coal-content waste from coal mining operations
* Gob, a cylinder of molten glass used in the Glass Container Industry
* Gob (mining), a cavity behind a longwall (See Longwall mining.)
* Gob games, a game development company

I think if Carnera 'knocks out' Sharkey then you have to fancy the similarly proportioned but more talented Klitschko to do the same.

Gob and Gobbie means something else here in Oz.
But I am certain that Sharkey did not get that name
for such exploits.
Atleast I hope not.

Vitali beats Sharkey's ass and stops him after a few rounds. Vitali's a very skilled boxer technically despite looking awkward and he's way too big and strong.

Sharkey was beautiful to watch, sure he was all about the money & didn't really go for the kayo (did Sharkey kill a man early in his career, can't recall), but i think he's just too crafty for Klitschko.

Klitscho has made his name fighting overweight lumbering types with a mean age of 40, difficul to imagine how he'd cope with young fast crafty 200 lb heavies who could fight 15 rds because hes such a slow clumsy fighter who telegraphs his shots.

I think you and I see the intangibles the same I just think Vitali has enough to win. The big man is very durable and I can imagine him taking punishment early on but equalising with his right before taking over for a late stoppage.

I agree with Overhand. Sharkey at his peak was as slick as Byrd but a much better hitter and offensive fighter. I see Vitali having success early but not keeping up with the pace Jack would set over 15 rounds.

Difficult to imagine this panning out since Klitschkos late stoppages are uniformaly over hugely overweight lardballs, most of whom were around 40 years of age with the exception of Sam Peter and Danny Williams, neither of whom ever learned head movement of defense.

The 'smallest' man Vitali has faced was a 210 lb Chris Byrd, who wasn't even cut at 210 lb -- he probably would be at 200 lb. Vitali certainly failed to smash Byrd up, who he found more trying than his ponderous 250 lb fatty punch bags that he usually feasts on.

Sharkey on the other hand, ignoring the fishy second fight, took on Carnera who had a whopping 60 lb weight advantage, which unsurprisingly didn't benefit him much as Sharkey was able to both deck him & box circles around him for 15 rds.

Cant really see how Klitschko would fare over 15 rds at a pace against a tough trying opponent, as he was gaping for air against Juan Carlos Gomez (37 yrs old and 30 lbs overweight) and even Corrie Sanders (38 yrs old and so fat he could only muster a few potshots before resting before launching another attack)

Certainly with the big giant, Sharkey doesn't need to worry about a guy who can step into close range & unleash a 3 or 4 punch volley of blink-and-you-miss-them knockout shots like he would do with Joe Louis and those faster & more technically adept guys.

Agree that the 15 rounds and pace would be trouble for Vitali. Byrd's victory was totally legitimate of course but if they had fougth again my money would have been on Vitali.

Sharkey was better than Byrd though.

I believe that the Klitschkos are geuninely good heavyweights who hold their own against most.
