What these rich sports stars often forget is that huge fortunes doesnt necessarily mean youve got class. Mayweather is a not a classy man.

Great fighter but constantly flaughting wealth, even to the extent that he throws cash at people in shopping centres for some sort of power trip. The bloke is a knob. Im not completely taken by his more humble frontage - but it was a refreshing change.

He was just playing the game here which American sportsman do so well.

He's still a twat, but it's up to him how he wants to act. His opponant choices and negative style bother me more than the way he acts outside the ring. For all his talent he isn't the most exciting guy to watch.

I dont know about that video. I honestly think it was an enourmous show of disrespect from the BBC and Floyd screwed them over on it. They never asked him one question about Floyd, it was all about Ricky, or Calzaghe so floyd made the answers about floyd until the guy pissed off out of his face. Seriously the british journalists make me wanna spew sometimes.

Much as I have no great time for Mihir Bose, you are taking that video completely out of context.

That was obviously a quick grab taken at the Superbowl in February at about the time that Calzaghe was announcing his retirement and the Pacquiao-Hatton fight was being made, so both questions were relevant. Mayweather was going out of his way not to say anything about a comeback or anything of any interest, while Bose was merely pressing him for a quote he could turn into a story. Just seems daft to use the video when there is nothing of interest in it - but that's the internet all over, no quality control.

A better way to have dealt with him would have been to play to his ego a bit more ("you're looking in shape, are you in the gym?" or "do you think boxing is missing you and who is the best in the world without you?") that might have got him talking a bit more. But Bose has no experience of Mayweather and isn't a boxing man - as shown when he did the exclusive on Calzaghe's retirement and he said that Joe won Sports Personality of the Year after the Hopkins fight.

All I saw was a brilliant hype job by Sky, the blonde presenter had him eating out of her hand and the Sky reporter at the gym was just going bananas because 150 people turned up to a venue that held about 50 (unverified numbers but you know what I mean).

Floyd was never that bad - his Internet fanboys are far worse than the man himself - and I still think the same I did before, he is a bit of a prat, and a not very convincing fake gangsta, all of which I could live with if he had fought the best opponents out there after he moved up from lightweight.

I don't know about the rep floyd currently has. I think it is that he previously has been keen to play the bad guy on ppv's as pre-recession he understood the role he had v the "good guys". I just recently spent a bit of time in south beach at a hotel called the Delano and the people who worked there said floyd goes there a lot and is their best guest. He is apparently very respectful and is the best tipper (apparently tiger woods and scotty pippen do not tip ever) and is well liked by them.

The bad guy is a act, outside a promotion he is a nice guy, now i think since he has comeback he realises the landscape has changed and is reverting to his normal self as bad guys don't get brand deals.

Just my comments but i will give him a pass based on people's experience of him outside boxing promtions.

I'm not that interested in boxers personalities; I just like sport of boxing but he's clearly a cock as well as an incredibly talented boxer.
I think Dougie Fisher once described him as a boxing savant because he excels at boxing but can't seem to deal with people, life etc.

Had he been asked questions along the line of "Why not fight Pacman?" or "Do you think Pacman did a better job on Hatton than you?" then he would have reverted to type.
The media just seemed delighted that he had chose to come over and put on a bit of a show.

It is a great pity that little Floyd and his fleet of PR people could not find time for a Setanta gig.
I hope that SKY start pushing their British title fights on Friday night like they pushed the arrival of Mayweather Jr and the opening of every envelope that he attended.
