Thanks for posting this, Quixall. I tried viewing on ESPN when they first put it online but it wouldn't work (probably because they don't let outsiders watch their videos due to licensing restrictions).
I've only seen the first 50 seconds so far, but it's very obvious this Brian Kenny guy just wants to wind him up. That might be quite funny if he could do a good job of it, but he just comes across as a tit. Quite entertaining viewing though. :P

The Americans seem to excell in creating those type of smug presenters/interviewers, who rely soley on trying to wind up there guests, in that Bill O'reilly type way
I would say that Floyd gets an SD over the two videos

It seemed to be Floyd's fault that the interview went the way it did, as he took umbrage from the get-go about being called the former pound-for-pound number one, despite it being a fair point due to him retiring.
After that I think both gave as good as they got. Some of Kenney's questions were perfectly legit and Floyd didn't have good answers, but in other parts Floyd did have some very good points. I think Kenney laboured the point about Marquez being a lightweight, but he did also ask Floyd some legit questions that made Money uncomfortable - and if he's a good journalist, he shouldn't hold back on doing so. At least he didn't stoop to the level of personal insults, which Floyd did.

Kenney gave him a good run there. Smart questions, direct and just enough of an edge to wind up Mayweather.
Marquez will be up against it, but he is one tough fighter and might just have an upset in him.

It wasn't Brian Kenny's fault, Floyd went on the defensive right from the start. Kenny was asking Floyd relevant questions, but Floyd wouldn't answer them properly.

Surprised people dislike Kenny. He's not Tessetore, but I enjoy him. Good host on their Classic Fights series.
He's a shit load better than Kellerman, and, sad to say lately, Merchant.

I think you could detect a little needle between the two and they have obviously sparred a few times before. I quite like Kenney and yes, his questions were sharp and put Floyd on the back foot, but then again, Floyd countered well at times and on others looked a little lost for words.
But the Americans certainly have that style of interviewing technique, which is to the point and designed to create some upheaval, but it's the way that it's done with the smug smile that makes me laugh, it's almost like some kind of Alan Partridge set up. Like i say, it reminds me of Bill O'Reilly and he is hilarious.

Mayweather made some good points.
If JMM is too small, what about Pacquaio. Even Kenny had to admit that Marquez deserved the decision in their second fight.

Pacquiao weighed more than Marquez when they fought (fight night weights, of course). Pacquiao is the heavier man.

And yet he was outboxed by Marquez over 24 rounds. The last fight they had was last year... not long ago at all.

Floyd is one of the most carefully managed fighters of all time. If Hatton had won the Pac fight, he would have had no hesitations about jumping into a rematch and cashing in. I don't think Floyd gave as good as he got in that interview, I think he came up short when asked perfectly valid questions.
Floyd's record since moving up from lightweight shows a lot of signs of extremely carefully chosen opponents.
Corley - Corley was off the back of a loss to Judah and has lost every time he made the step up to the very top. Despite this he still managed to hurt Floyd.
Bruseles - B fighter
Gatti - The fight that launched him into PPV. Gatti was an over achiever even in his prime and this was at the very end of Gatti's career after many wars. His style was all wrong for Mayweather and he was nearly a stationary punching bag in front of Floyd.
Then he jumped up in weight without fighting ANY of the top men at 140.
Mitchell - Blitzed by Tszyu 2 fights previous and shot to pieces by the time Floyd got him.
Judah - Was coming off a shock loss to Carlos Baldomir of all people.
Baldomir - Then he fought Baldomir himself, in which he was a heavy favourite. Disappointing as well when you factor in the fights that could have been in its place.
DLH - Again jumps up without fighting any of the top at 147. Gets pushed by a DLH who has seen better days and gasses towards the end to give Floyd a SD win.
Hatton - Probably his best win since Castillo since Hatton on paper was a top, undefeated fighter in his prime. Was tailor made for Floyd though and Pac's demolition of him has put doubts on just how good a performance it was. Pac also beat Hatton at his stronger weight.
Floyd then "retired" rather than face Cotto who was also undefeated at the time and the list of great fighters that he didn't fight was longer than the ones he did.

I seem to remember a topic in the 'Current Scene' and found out that Mayweather has only been the underdog once in his career, and that was against Diego Corrales. Anyone care to confirm that or disagree?

Very very harsh mate.
Corley lost to Judah but he was seen as a solid enough fighter and Floyd was acclimating to 140. Corley had Cotto dancing in the ring, remember that. Corley would have beaten Hatton with his slickness if you ask me too. It was a good win where Floyd outboxed Corley all night.
Bruseles was a keep busy fight, they all have them.
The Gatti fight was talked about for years and it was a great fight for making getting Floyd known plus making a lot of money. That fight and the manner of victory gave him a lot of good publicity.
You say he jumped up from 140 without facing any of the top men there. I believe Hatton was saying he needed 3 warm up fights in order to fight Floyd at the time. Hatton took his hiding when the time came anyway so why criticise floyd for not fighting a man who is 100x inferior (as we have seen).
Mitchell was his first 147 fight and yes he was shot. You say Judah lost to Baldomir and floyd fought him but floyd went and fought and beat baldomir (the lineal champ at 147) by shutout.
He went up to 154 to fight DLH and weighed 150 for the fight (a harder fight than fighting Cotto/Margarito or Mosley imo) and he beat DLH on everyones scorecards in fairness. A great performance UP IN WEIGHT against a GOOD DLH who pushed him all the way.
Floyd deserves credit in my opinion. I see him beating JMM and Pacman in quick succession. From there, he has to fight a legit 147 pounder (Cotto, Mosley etc, whoever is the lineal champ) or even I will criticize Floyd. But for now, he is coming back from 1.5 years off against what I believe is the #1 pound for pound fighter in the world (he did beat pacquaio twice after all). That is good enough for me.

I think that five fights will validate Floyd's career and give him an unquestionable position and legacy
1. Marquez
2. Pacquaio
3. Williams
4. Mosley
5. Cotto
That will stop the doubters and it's all within his reach to make those fights in the next two years.

He will never fight Williams, imo.

Maybe not, but it's a fight that people will want to see, especially after William's performance over Winky. even though Winky is slightly over the hill. Even if you take Williams out of the equation, the other names are all valid opponents for Floyd and he will have to face each and every one of them to silence the critics.

I'd like to see Mayweather against Pacquiao after Marquez, as I suppose everyone would. But if that fight doesn't happen (as Pacquiao vs Cotto seems more likely), I'd like to see Mayweather against Mosley. I'd definitely give him credit for that.

Everyone is clammoring for Floyd to fight Mosley and criticising him for not fighting him. However Floyd went up to ONE FIFTY FOUR POUNDS and fought DLH who BEAT MOSLEY IN THEIR REMATCH (lets be real here lads). Kind of funny that.
However, like I said, Floyd gets JMM and Pac but afterwards he has to fight a top boy at 147. If Pac doesn't happen after JMM, he has to fight a top boy at 147. I believe he will.

I'm not really sure the logic of "He avoided the welterweights by fighting the number one guy in a higher division" stands up. It's like criticising Haye for fighting Klitschko instead of Adamek and Cunningham.

DLH wasn't #1, he'd lost 2 of his last 4 fights, and many thought he lost the fight to Sturm too.

He was certainly better than Hatton and I believe a harder fight than Mosley or Cotto.
