I think Pac is more likely to fight Mosely than he is to fight PBF Arum doesnt like Mayweather and i doubt he'd like to deal with him i may be wrong though but i think a fight with either Cotto or Mosely is more likely

the way the pacman dealed with hatton and Oscar De La Hoya before him,
we might see the pac man fighting middleweights, their is no stopping this little man

Mmmm don't know about that one was past it seriously weight drained , the other was just not at the same level.

If Cotto gets by Clottey, he'll more than likely be Pacquiao's next opponant.

They are only using Cotto/Mosley's names as bargaining chips against FMJ, that fight is signed sealed and delivered just the details need ironing out. Mosley has a chance of fighting the winner

yes, the only worthy opponent for pac and mayweather, in terms of status and spectacle, are each other

I have one question in respect of your post.

If Pacquiao were to beat Mosley, Cotto & Mayweather, would he go down as the greatest fighter ever?

If he were to beat all three then he's damn well near close to such an accolade imo!

Does all this weight jumping actually demonstrate there are too many weight classes and the difference between say Super Feather and Light-Welter isn't the impossible leap it has been made to be.

Would the classic weight classes, with perhaps the addition of Cruiserweight at 200lbs provide more than ample division of the sport and provide perfectly adequate protection of fighters from unfair match-ups.

Pacman, Mayweather have served to prove that really, its just about skill, speed, stamina, power, technical ability etc.

If we had the classic divisions, would it reduce the number of fighters boiling weight rather than increase it due to the widening of the difference between them. Does a fighter who squeezes into 140 fight as a proper Welter or does he try the impossible and make Lightweight.

If that theory is true could we go back to on the day weigh ins, which I know would piss off promoters and networks, but remove the massive weight gain and mean fights are contestec closer to the actual limit. What value the 140 pound belt if one fighters is 146 fight night and another 155....what does it actually mean?

I know the sanctioning bodies would oppose it, they make money from more titles but......to be honest.....the top guys are beginning to look above and beyond belts.

I just think the whole weight issue is beginning to blur the sport more than the sanctioning bodies and their multiple champions per division.

Its certainly an interesting one. I have to say though, that Mayweather and Pacman are very rare indeed, and most people do struggle against naturally bigger opponents + re-introducing same day weigh in's could lead to disaster.You will still get people boiling down -they always will take a good opporunity, but without the benefit of de-hydrating.Hmm, I actually think the different divisions are needed.
