Paul Appleby could be set for a crack at the European featherweight title as he bids to bounce back from the loss of his British crown.
The 21-year-old South Queensferry boxer suffered the first defeat of his 15-fight professional career last month when he was knocked out by Martin Lindsay in Belfast.
Promoter Tommy Gilmour is now hoping to bring European champion Oleg Yefimovych, 27, to Glasgow in September in an attempt to get Appleby's career back on track.
Nice comeback fight. What are his chances against Yefimovych?

Might be Typical Tommy Gilmour though juts fuelling the publicity machine
Everytime one of his fighters is in a match he starts his " a loss could cost him thousands financially and might be his last chance"
yet hes got Barry morrison about 3 or 4 shots at the British

Good chance for him but I would like to see Lindsay get the Euro title shot instead!

what an effing stupid idea
one of the main reasons he lost his title was inexperience.
so what do they do, if this is true, try and get him a shot at the euro belt?
total idiocy. the bloke needs a couple of fights where he gets 10/12 under his belt.

I would like to see him against Lindsay in a rematch in Glasgow or Edinburgh and then the winnner surely deserves the European title shot
