If Wladimir Klitschko does'nt re-schedule his fight with David haye and fights say Ruslan Chagaev, where does that leave David Haye ? Haye has only had two fights at heavyweight, against Bonin and Barrett and as Buncey pointed out today, this was going to be a voluntary defence from Wladimir, not a mandatory and was only sanctioned because of the media interest and financial clout that it could gurantee. Haye will have to have some more fights and work his way back up to the position that he found himself in a week ago, one fight away from becoming a possible heavyweight champion of the world. Can Haye get away with fighting Bonin type fighters untill another world title opportunity comes along or will fight fans and the governing bodies take a stance and demand that he goes through the proper stages, ie, fighting top ten ranked heavyweights and going through an eliminator to earn the right to another world title fight.

What do you guys think ?

Think if the fight doesnt come off, he wont have a choice but to fight top ranked contenders.

Maybe go after Valuev?

haye would destroy valuev he may be big but his punch isnt to great and he lost to chagaev who isnt in hayes leageu for speed

well go for that fight then! then bargain once you have the belt with the klits and fornicate em over
50 50 split asa belt holder it actually makes more sense than what he is doing now with the rematch clauses etc.

He lost to Holyfield ffs. All Evander did was throw a punch. That's it. The worst HW championship fight there is.

Why would Valuev fight Haye? He will probably get upgraded to full WBA champion and fight bums because he knows he will lose his belt . Haye-Valuev would not be a big money fight like one against Wlad would. Why lose to Haye when you can beat up on Kali Meehan and stay champ?

Haye camp wants postponement!


Despite yesterday’s announcement that the June 20th heavyweight championship bout between Wladimir Klitschko and David Haye has been called off due to an injury Haye suffered during training camp, the Haye Camp is seeking a postponement rather than a cancellation. “Unfortunately David has sustained a back injury which means he is unable to continue training for a short period,” said Adam Booth, Haye’s trainer and manager. “We’re heading back to the UK for some aggressive physiotherapy. It looks like there will be only a three week delay from the original fight date with respect to David’s readiness, which hopefully means that Wladimir will only postpone the fight, rather than cancel it

I think that Hayes camp know that they may well have to earn a shot at the title after all .. dangerous position for somebody who doesn`t have the sturdiest of chins ...

No way will Valuev take the risk of fighting Haye.

Agreed. Valuev is very safety first.

They can put it on the 18th and have that bill as the starter to the PBF V JMM fight

11th for all intents and purposes is not on as I hear there is both the German Grand Prix and Felix Sturm fighting

Whatever the date, if he agrees to a postponement Haye has to be in that ring. I dont care how many injections he has to take he has to be in that ring

If he pulls out again he better have a personality transplant and start acting all humble

I still think we may see Haye v Vitali first.
Vitali last fought in March, so should be looking to get back out there in a couple of months, which would be ideal for Haye

I think he'll get in with a 10-30 ranked heavy this summer while Wlad fights someone else.

Haye willl spark him out then the hype machine will begin again and he'll fight one of the Klits by Xmas...

Cedric Boswell believes Klitschko will surprise everyone and wait for Haye. He points out, which has been overlooked, that Chagaev is a southpaw, something Klitschko will be ill-prepared for. Chagaev meanwhile, is well prepared for a tall, rangy opponent. True very different, but he's fit and hungry. Hardly and easy assignment on 16 days notice, and of course Wladimir is fully aware of the grief Lennox had when he switched from Kirk Johnson to Vitaly. For slightly different reasons, but Chagaev is a tricky opponent, worthy, but Klitschko could fight a simpler, more orthodox pro couldn't he?

Or he could wait.

To be honest i think Haye will find it difficult to get himself motivated for anything but a world title fight which leaves himself at risk of getting chinned by a nobody.

Well i think Wlad or Vitali will give him a shot to shut him up but if they dont maybe Valuev who i think is to big for him
