BUNCEY SHOW JUNE 11TH

I suspect this Thursday's show could have a fond farewell feel about it, we could be singing Old Lansigne (sp) or We'll meet again perhaps and cracking out the buntin. Obviously, neither Steve or Andy will be in a position to comment or be legally able able to if they could and wanted to but the turgid peel of the final bell looks very likely for Setanta.
I'd like to say I've loved being a Setanta subscriber, I've loved the editorial policy they've employed in embracing the entire sport and I'v eloved that they've bought top quality cards from around the world - a return to dependence on SKY, given their terrifying policy of putting on very low significance Friday Night bills and putting Khan and Prizefighter as PPV packages while ignoring ALL of the top US shows concerns me.
I'm not a SKY subscriber at present, I hate their FOOTBALL only focus and I detest their narrow editorial remit. "If it aint ON Sky, it didn't happen".
Hopefully, ITV could pick up the Buncey show, its low rent in terms of production one would presume and in a 7pm or 8pm slot would go quite well I would think.

Had my £65 refund off them this morning so I expect that to tip them over the edge, bust by lunchtime.
Bunceys show would go down well on ITV 4 or something, although i think a prime time slot is ambitious... we (you) should start a petition...

I doubt the Bunce show will go ahead tomorrow - and even worse, I doubt Setanta will still be on our screens for Cotto-Clottey this weekend.

Does anybody know of an ITV contact we can bombard with emails about broadcasting a Bunce show?
I've got the title - BBC - Bunce Boxing Chat.
We just need a channel now.

What about tomorrow though? Bunce's show is on a Thursday, not a Wednesday. ;;-)

It will continue.
It'll just be called ESPN instead of Setanta.

Let's hope some sort of system is in place where we'll continue to get the US fights and the UFC.

Why don't they just have 1 channel instead of 4/5, get rid of Setanta News cos they're never gonna take from SSN, and just show Boxing, MMA (not that I watch) and the Prem Football they got on the one channel. That would keep me happy for around 5.99 per month.
Less overheads, more of a niche market rather than trying to out-do Sky, cos that's never gonna happen.
Oh, and have Bunce on for around 7 hours a day

I think that Buncey on say, itv4, would generate a bigger audience that he is getting now, especially if it was, as you say, in the evening at say 8pm. I was suprised to hear that Setanta was losing up to 100 million pounds a year. With those numbers, it makes you wonder what the chief executives were thinking of, in terms of a business plan. All i can think of, is that Setanta were trying to bulid the subscriber numbers up, by offfering up quaility sport at reasonable prices, going into short term debt because of that and then planning on being bought out in say two years time. The way thing were a year ago, that may have looked a sensible business decision, but this recent crash has bulldozed a lot of companies, who were thinking on similar lines, ie, build up the brand and customer loyalty and then sell the business and the subsequent profit offsets the initial financial injection and debt. I hope that Setanta can survive, because it will have an effect, in terms of who gets to monopolise the sport in this counytry and that could have a wide range of consequences.

A deal is yet in place and I am told they are more interested in the football!!!
And if ESPN do come in - whilst the deal is sorted - Setanta will go off air for a while.
In addition - Buncey is not in the country at present!!

ESPN will just buy the football. Sky should sign Buncey and Hayemaker.

I like Steve bunce a lot. very passionate and knowledgable journalist whose enthusiasm draws people in and he rasies the profile of a lot of fighters from all levels. I hope his show stays on the air waves.

Sky will be interested in David Haye as a PPV asset and that probably it.
