wow thats great news for Jamie.
Kermit Cintron and Vernon Forrest above him, i'm not sure that Vernon Forrest will be boxing anytime soon due to injury, Cintron had a very good win a couple of weeks ago against Angulo, think that was an eliminator so maybe he will be first in line for Martinez.

Martinez and Cintron, yeah. Most feel that Martinez was robbed of both a KO and PTS win. Think Forrest was stripped and Martinez made champ.

It's about time Jamie Moore made progress in the rankings, good to see they're finally rating him correctly. Very under-rated fighter and a really nice lad. Wish him all the best

Everyone knows Martinez won that fight. Martinez outlanded Cintron by 3 to 2, and Martinez was landing the cleaner punches as Cintron had trouble finding the target. The referee mucking up the KO was negligent, the confusion afterwards was very poor, but the judging at the end was the worst of the lot. I can't see how the judges were not told prior to the bout how they should handle things.

I thought Cintron was being lined up for Spinks?

I think Spinks was interested but nothing has come of it:

Last I heard there was going to be Paul Williams vs Kermit Cintron and Sergio Martinez vs Joe Greene as a double-header.

Well said, he deserves a shot in the next 12 months, most of the problems he's had - if not all of them - have been no fault of his own, particularly the injuries.

i think Cintron, a tall puncher with no inside game whatsoever and seemingly no plan b, would be MADE for Moore. not quite so sure about Maravilla

With Kirkland now looking at a 12 to 15 month sentence, the time for J-Mo to strike is now.

Hopefully it doesn't take 12-15 months to get the WBC shot / getting American TV interested.

Maravilla would be a tough fight for anyone at light middle, but he's 34 now and he's not going to get better. Cintron, who just derailed Angulo, never looked like he was going to trouble Martinez.

I agree- a well matched bout- the sort of match that should be made more often.
