FOX vs. 10's One HD

I believe promoters that are currently with FOX had been approached to swing toward One HD, but at the moment are reluctant to do so fearing it may not work, leaving themselves on FOX's offside.
Interesting times ahead no doubt.

Sounds like an opportunity for promoters to ask for more money from Fox for their shows. What are they getting off Fox now, about 30k per show?

Well, the cards that have been on offer from Fox have been pretty ordinary bar the Medley V Leaveni card.
Just checked the schedule there's 4 cards in a row, which i think are really good, it kicks off on July 9, it appears their matchmaker is the best in the business, very well matched cards .
Card features
Dib vs Yamaguchi and the 4 highest ranked Cruisers squaring off against each other and featuring Michael Bolling.

On the 23rd of july Ben Edwards is scheduled to fight Royce Sio on the Hoppa Undercard on Ten HD.
The league killers square off, I hope this go's ahead.

Here is a list of the fights the superboxer series are showing throughout July, more listed here than on Boxrec.
Johnny Lewis is also involved.

What's listed in BoxRec is it. What happens from July 30 onwards remains to be seen.
My assesment: If other promoters don't come good, the shows will be less frequent and the whole concept may very well fall on its arse.
Prime promoter of the concept Fidel Tukel wouldn't be in position nor probably prepared to organize shows at such frequency on his own.

I really hope 10 HD Vs Fox gets us more Boxing matches, More money for the fighters and better matchups. As it is at the moment Fox gets everything there own way. A bit of competition would be good.
There are some good promoters here and with extra funds they could put on far better cards. We have a huge amount of good quality opponents in Asia for our smaller guys. And with extra funds could actually get some decent ones over here. There are plenty of matchups here above Middle if the guys actually fought each other. All that is needed is the extra money to put the fights on.

I hear you mate,
The month after month of Paying Foxtel for the occassional decent card does my head in sometimes. Its the ONLY reason i have Fox. So $70 for a live card a month( if lucky) is pretty ordinary IMO.

I am very impressed with the one hd cards listed on Boxrec. What a pity I can't get it here in the north of WA. Hopefully miracles will happen and the country network goes hd and jumps on board. Its great for the sport. The more competition for Fox the better.

Listening to june 1st Da Sweet science and Angelo Hyder claims the recent Nitro show was a huge success and Fox sports claim the ratings were quite high, and will continue in the future.
If Fox were impressed why not more regular cards?

A couple of other fights that i've heard are to be included that haven't been listed yet, probally because they haven't been confirmed.
King Davidson vs Emmanual Agustus at LT/Middle on the hoppa vs mirovic card.
Michael Bolling 6(6)- 0 vs Tagolisimi Letoa 10(5) -1 at supermiddle.

Yeah i think so, he's the kind of fighter that can make you look silly.
Johnny lewis seems to think that King a future world champion.

A win over Augustas will put him on the map. King is a great fighter but Augustas has been in with World class opposition. He will be a really tough fight.

That is a great fight. King needs to be on TV more often.
On another note why are these superboxer programs starting 9pm??? That is almost past my bedtime on a work night!

Yes, it is soft of them to put it on at 9pm on a work night... What's wrong with prime time?

Prime time is reserved for popular sports like darts and lawn bowls.

Sorry guys Boxrec have King down as fighting Guillermo Mosquera on that date.
I don't normally post anything without confirmation on boxrec, i got the information from a mate and was reading an article on another boxing site and it had King fighting Agustus on that card.
Hopefully it does come off.
The bolling fight is correct though.

I was always under the impression it was being televised LIVE.
9pm isn't too bad, considering the show doesn't go for too long.
Either way I am just happy to have more boxing on televison whether it be fox or 1 HD.
