AFTER TWO first round technical knockouts, the real boxing camein the final two bouts of the maiden professional boxing card staged by Stone Wall Promotions at the Barbados Community College on Saturday night.

Pro debutant Matthew Robinson took a mere 66 seconds to force Kevin Neverson into submission in theall-Barbadian light middleweight opening bout.

Then, Selwyn Lett benefited from a technical knockout over fellow Guyanese Gordell Roberts, who could not continue after suffering a laceration above his eye.

The third bout, a light welterweight battle, lasted the full distance and provided a measure of fireworks forthe 100-odd fans.

The more aggressive Revlon Lake of Guyana, scored a unanimous 40-36 decision over a wobbly but unrelenting Bajan John "The Hammer" Trotman, whose knees started to buckle from the punishment in Round 3.

In the feature fight, Guyanese Cleveland Fraser, who is basedin Barbados, punished muscularSt Lucian Patrick Wilson en route toa technical knockout in their light middleweight battle.

Fraser, the taller of the two, battered Wilson with a barrage of body blows to bring the bout to an end after 2:58 minutes in the fourth round of their scheduled six-rounder.

Using the jab to good effect, Fraser landed some punches in the first round After an even third round in which both men traded punches, Wilson seemed to infuriate Fraser with his anticsas he started shaking his body.

Fraser was clearly in no mood for his teasing and taunts and let Wilson know it wasn't any child's play with a barrage of blows to the body and head.

The onslaught left the stunnedSt Lucian groggy and he indicatedto referee Derek Herbert, who was pressed into service for all four bouts, that the lashes were too manyfor him to continue.
