Numbers seem to be dwindling!

I'm already here! This must be the quiestest town on earth.

I am currently in berlin as I already booked a stay there thinking the fight was gonna be at the o2. I am staying in berlin now and will watch it on rtl, which should at least stay in business until after the fight.

I'll be there and so will Terry D. I believe a few of the Liverpool Boxrecers will also be going.

Went up to the stadium today and sat in the semi-constructed ring!

For anyone coming, the arena is a 16 Euro cab ride from Gelsenkirchen main station, although you can get the No 302 tram there, which runs about ever 15 mins up to 1am. The fight is due to start 11pm local time, first fight in the ring at 7pm, Michael Sprott, Paul Butlin (fights Johnathon Banks) and Andy Lee on the undercard. Trains run from Gelsenkirchen to Dortmund, Essen and Dusseldorf all night, although you might have to change at either Essen or Duisburg.

The only other attraction in town is apparently a very modern Zoo, which is called Zoom. Essen is worth a visit and a nicer place for a meal or a drink and is only about 10 miles away, there is an afternoon race meeting in Dusseldorf if you fancy that. Bochum is meant to be quite lively, but I've never been there. You can go scuba diving in a converted gas tank in Duisburg apparently. Very little to do in Gelsenkirchen.

I've been told good things about the Old Town in Dusseldorf and will be found around there in a drunken stupour!

Few questions Ron,
Are you staying in Gelsenkirchen itself ?
Have you any idea of how many supporters are now expected on the night ?
What are they saying weather wise locally (or is it too early). Is the stadium roof likely to remain open ?
Are there any other UK press guys there yet or are you on your lonesome and how many journo's are expected on fight night ?

I'm in Gelsenkirchen, at the Maritim.

They say they have sold between 58,000 and 59,000 tickets, with more than 60,000 expected on the night.
Roof will be shut. Last weather report I saw said rain Saturday.
I'm on my lonesome at the moment. Steve Lillis is meant to be joining me on Friday. Most others cancelled.
Might try the zoo tomorrow, if I can get my work done Maybe a night out in Bochum, which is meant to be the best place round here for nightlife. Went to Duisburg tonight, which was quite nice. Got to get out of Gelsenkirchen. I told people before I was expecting Gelsenkirchen to be like Derby, it's more like Bracknell, but without the gangs of kids.
