What ever happened to the great Kostya Tszyu?

After the Hatton loss, he never fought again. Do you Aussies know if he started a boxing gym out there?

Or did he do that corny Dancing with the Stars bit and just fade to black?

He was a hell of a fighter...one of Aussielands best.

He does have a gym in Sydney. He is currently in Russia. Promoting fights and opening gyms there.
His son Tim has just started his amature career, hopefully he can go on to big things.

He was carrying a lot of injuries towards the end.

He always said he would not fight without Johnny Lewis in his corner and Lewis would not train him any more. Johnny would never put his fighter's life or health in danger and he knew Tszyu's best years were behind him after the Hatton fight.

Wasn't he on a dancing with the stars series in Russia?

Good point. I remember that. Tszyu was PURE CLASS. It was poetic justice the way he knocked out Zab Judah! Judah was talking all that big shit prior to the fight, saying he wouldn't give Tsyzu a rematch after he wins...then he got caught with what...a well timed straight right...and Judah did the stumble bumble dance...fell down...got up a second time and was waved out...

Glad to hear Tszyu's son is starting his amateur career. Tszyu looks like he may be related to the Mongolian horde what terrorized the most territory in history.. I wish him well.

Pretty sure i read somewhere that his relatives are from that Mongol Area.

No. The Asiatic look came from his father who is part Korean.

Kostya was born in Serov, Russia, which is a long way north west of Mongolia.
