He may be able to outwork them for a period of time, but he wouldn't have the power to stop then. At best Rees may win half the fight put in the latter stages the power of Thaxton & Arthur would tell and it'd end for him then.

Thaxton would be to big for Rees and stop him late
Close one AAA is a good boxer and Thaxton is a good fighter got to go with a close AAA UD
Arthur would box him and win an easy UD

ive been a fan of thaxton in and out of the ring for years but i honestly believe hes slipping and rees is one fit tough cookie.Arthur could also struggle if gav took him in the trenches

Arthurs meant to be on Manchester card aswell
be good to see him fight regular

theres some good domestic matcehs out there if he wants them
seems to be looking beyond that though as hes done all that before

Thaxton too disciplined, strong, tough and seasoned for Rees. Thaxton in a tough fight where he's always a nudge ahead.

Alex is too open to shots and Thaxton is a solid, heavy puncher at 135, he's a big strong fella with a decent engine too. Thaxton in a nail-biter.

Arthur can outbox Rees from distance, has all the physical advantages and good enough reach and hunger to keep Rees at bay. Another tough fight but Arthur wins.

Thaxton beats Rees if it happened like within a year.

Alex Arthur could beat Rees once Arthur has had a few more fights at lightweight

And same as above for the last fight.

Perhaps that was the case a few years ago. But against Mezaache, he was blowing out of his arse after six or seven rounds. It was one of the main reasons he lost rounds against the French dude.

Thaxton, Arthur, Arthur in fight order, I really dont rate Gavin Rees and I think Alex Arthur would be a little bit too good for Thaxton on the night.

It could've been the case, but I believe age is taking its effect with Mr. Thaxton. He's a consummate professional, but these hard fights could be getting to him. Mezaache really isn't anything special, but he nearly had Jono over. I had it a draw as well.

Salient question: why aren't one or more of these intriguing, high domestic level quality fights being made?
