If he's unsuccessful in his bid to reclaim the WBC when he faces Alexander, where could Witter go from there? What would be left for his career? He's 35, so if he loses, his options are probably limited!

problem with Witter is his inactivity. Look at his record, its shocking how inactive he has been at times. He simply didn't try hard enough. He lucked out getting this shot at Alexander, I thought he was done after the Bradley loss. He could have forced the Hatton fight if he had beaten Bradley. He would have been the legit world recognized number 2 at the weight. He will probably beat Alexander though.

how could he have forced the hatton fight?he was a genuine world champ,he was with the same promoter,once,and the fight still didnt happen,beating bradley wouldnt have made any difference

If he loses then he will never get another shot at the title he will either become a yardstick or retire i think he will carry on and become a yardstick fight the prospects coming up to World level because I think he's got plenty left in the tank

He could still fight for the European or British titles if he loses.

When he KO'd Harris, the americans started waking up. He was making some noise. Going into the Bradley fight he was heavily favoured and a good KO win would have put MASSIVE pressure on Hatton because of their history. A unification fight would then have forced Hattons hand.

If Witter loses its game over, he may as well retire.

Even if he had beaten Bradley, the Hatton fight wouldn't have happened, Ricky had made a ton of excuses before that fight and he would have made more after it for the fight not to happen.

What I've seen of Alexander makes me think he'll be tricky to pin down, but Witter's back is well and truly against the wall and I think he'll rise to the situation. Alexander isn't a puncher and sooner or later Witter gets his way in spectacular fashion imo.

Witter isn't one for rising to the situation, so I wouldn't bank on that happening.

I don't know much about Alexander, but Witter isn't and never has been a difficult fighter to out work or out box. Witter relies on his power, and that's fine at lower levels, but head hunting doesn't have the same success at higher levels.

Witter can punch when he wants to so Khan will never fight him until he's completely shot which i hope doesn't happen because i like witter although he is very frustrating to watch at times.

Sadly I think Witter has missed the boat - he seemed on the cusp of a really big fight before the Bradley loss. I like Witter and I do think he underperformed in the Bradley fight but I feel at this stage in is career he's a bit of a one-trick pony: he'll blast you out of there with shots from unorthodox angles in the first six rounds or if you survive he'll fade down the stretch because of having loaded up so much early in the fight. I think Alexander will outwork Witter for a decision win but I hope I'm wrong and Witter scores a spectacular knockout.

Unfortunately I agree.

You have to consider Witters age too.

I still think he'd do Hatton within 3 rounds due to his style, as he would have always done.

I think he is capable of rising to the situation, as he did with Ndou and Harris, and Alexander just doesn't have a solid look about him. If Witter doesn't go to sleep and really puts it on him I think he'll crack, but it's just a hunch.
