Just curious- for some fights- including one coming up, there are floor seats at £300, £500 each.

These are floor seats (not always ringside)- and not necessarily the front row, either.


Just wondering who buys these ? IE who out there actually feels that it's worth spending HUNDREDS more £ on what is perhaps just a slightly better view.

People with a bit of money who like to play at being a big shot.

Also corporate I would have thought - tax deductable 'client entertainment' would be my guess..

I think all the tickets prices for that show are very high.

As someone who has spent that kind of money on fight tickets, then I suppose I should respond.

I've only spent more than 500 pounds per ticket on one UK show: Hatton v Tszyu, and it was my Dad's 60th birthday that night and we were about 3 rows back.At the time, it was quite a lot of money for me, but utterly worthwhile.

I've spent several hundred pounds for a ticket at probably a dozen or so Vegas fights. The reasons range from getting great seats eg ringside at lesser shows, to getting in at all eg 1000 bucks for ODLH v Mayweather for an average seat.

To answer the specific question of why, well its simple. I can afford to. I'm not trying to sound like a flash mofo but I love boxing and have a group of friends in a similar income bracket and its a decision we make collectively when we think the fight or occasion warrants it.

In contrast, I don't have to be at the front. These occasions probably represent less than 5% of the total fight nights I've been to and I can be perfectly happy at the back if that's what the people I'm with prefer.

I wouldn't pay that kind of money for Khan v Kotelnik (I assume the fight that provoked the thread) but for example, I'd happily pay a couple of grand in dollars to be ringside for Mayweather v Pac if it happened.

Thing is, even at this price the seats arn't the ringside seats (I don't think)- They just appear to be the floor seats that are closer to the ring.

The difference between £300 and £500 just appears to be the angle at which you are viewing the ring!
