O/T, analogy needed

Hi guys, I'm a journalist and I'm writing an article. One of my weak points is analogies, so if any fellow writers can help me out that would be great. I basically need an analogy in the 'electric car/manufacturing/general business' semantic field for the following

(referring to IP of 1905 electric cars in relation to today's electric cars)

"It has about as much relevance today as...."

I know Jimbo Mcdonnell is good at these as I have lolled profusely at some of his in the past..

Thanks!

It has as about as much relevance today as the Red Baron's Fokker has to modern fighter jets.

"It has about as much relevance today as the Model T Ford has to Formula 1."

or, a little snappier (and referring to the Model T engine - which had a top speed of about 45mph - as opposed to the car):

"It has about as much relevance today as the Model T has to F1."

or

"It has about as much relevance to today's automotive industry as the band AC/DC has to the history of the power transformer."

Glad you won the "competition". No real surprise to me I know you have the wit and the writing skills. Actually I loved the last suggestion, that one really is clever.

The Aston Martin DB5 is to James Bond as the Parker 51 is to Basildon Bond.

(For our younger readers, the Parker 51 was a pen.)

or

The Aston Martin DB5 is to Bond as the Sinclair C5 could never be!
