Damn. A prime Morales would have ruined Khan, even if he would have been undersized at 130.
I'm guessing it's a shocking mismatch nowadays though. Expect Fwank to make it for late-2009 then. Maybe get Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. for early-2010.

DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!
I didnt agree with Khan fighting Barrera and I dont agree if Khan fights Morales. Why dont they put Khan in with people his own size and age. Put him in with hungry fighters who want to be something not fighters who are past there prime and already acheived everything in boxing. Ohhhh Khan is awesome he beat Barrera, BOLLOCKS.

They seem real confident of Khan at 140 if they are hoping for a Morales match-up if he gets the title ...
Roach seems to be losing the plot - and my respect, with suggestions of a Morales fight against Khan, and claims of Khan being his new ‘Mexican Assassin’

He's got to beat Kotelnik first, and that's by no means a foregone conclusion in my book.

This is bollocks of the highest order.
Morales had been toast for a while now, he has looked like shite since moving above super featherweight and now they want him to fight at 140 after coming of a lengthy layoff.
At least Barrera had been active in recent times and was fighting at 135.

They did match him once against someone his own size and we all know what happened there,Roach was telling everyone that he wished he had listened to his trainer and packed in boxing but he carried on and was telling hatton to pack it in,well morales is far more shot than hatton but you can bet your life that should khan fight him then all of a sudden he will become a viable contender based on performances 7 or 8 years ago, very sad :(

Khan will throw a fast flurry, kotelnik will stumble off balance and the fight will be over, khan will then either fight a string of hasbeens or nobodies or will be froced into a mandatory in which case he will then vacate.

I think I had Morales beating Diaz or being unlucky when the cards were read out. Although, Morales should be put nowhere near Khan. It would be worse than the Barrera fight. I believe Khan would've stopped Barrera and I believe Khan would stop Morales... with ease.
Don't fecking happen.

Yeah, all true, but I'd love to see the great man get one last hurrah, and with Khan, he'd have a chance.
A tiny one, but a chance.
I love Morales, and don't really want to see this, but I have in my mind a picture of Morales on his trainer's shoulders, with the belt, and Frank, red faced and slimy with cold sweat, glowering at Khan as he groggily tells the ring physician that he is holding up three fingers.
I'm just going to hold that there for now.
Delicious.

To be fair, Carbo, with that chin, you would have a chance versus Khan.

Yes, but I've got a snappy left hook, and a wrecking ball right haymaker. Obviously they travel toward their target about as fast as an oil rig, during which time Khan would have landed over twelve thousand punches to head and body, but, hey, it's a chance, right?

There is nothing wrong with khans chin, prescott never beat him,it could have gone either way in my opinion, and if he had a dodgy chin he would never have beaten that huge punching peak natural lightweight Barrera would he

Does anyone on here have any clue about whats needed to develop young boxers? Young boxers need bringing along steadily with increasingly difficult challenges not simply throwing them in the deep end. They need profile building fights that may or may not be against the best of the best. Morales and Barrera are well past prime and much smaller but they are still top10 type fighters with world class skills. They are hand picked and picked because they are declined and smaller but they still have that skill that will upset a fighter who doesn't belong in the top10
Now Morales and MAB are still big names and will bring Khan to American/international attention, far more so than a John Murray fight would and both are actually probably harder fights. Morales deserved the decision over Diaz for the WBC LW title a while ago, would Murray beat Diaz?
A 2009 with MAB, Morales and Kotelnik would be a very good year for Khan and may set up a Hatton fight, which would be massive, not bad considering he was ko'd in a round a year ago

Yes i do,even well contested fights where the opponent gives a good account of himself but is expected to lose and gives the house fighter a few rounds under his belt, the thing with khan is that on 3 occasions now he got himself into trouble against supposed walkovers. So if khan is fighting for the world title his team either think he is ready or that kotelnik is a poor champ,i know which one i'm going for.Sky won't put him on box office forever unless there are titles involved, what were his options at lightweight, murray, thaxton, too risky,so move up a weight

Absolutely agree, it's obsurd. No reason for this match. I'll be pretty disgusted if this fight comes off.
