So if (when some might say) Khan loses to Kotelnik, is that it? Game over, or can and will he try and re-invent himself again at lightweight, or remain at light welterweight? Will Roach stay with him if he's KO'd?

He's still a young whipper-snapper he'll just make a comeback.

Khans got the potential to beat anyone in the ring (unfortunately he's also got the potential to lose to anyone), he'll be able to repeatedly re-invent himself if need be IMO.

It won't be game over, but he'll be under a storm of criticism from the fans and media. That's just the way it is for fighters today. You lose one or two fights which are on tv and you get totally written off. Khan recovered from the Prescott defeat very well though and I definitely think he could come again after another loss. I think Khan will be around for a long while yet, but I don't expect him to stay undefeated during that time.

If he loses then Uncle Frank will say that he was stepping out of his weight class and was too young to fight for a title etc. He's young and can be repackaged at least once more.

I think it's time we realised that Khan is really no longer just a "young kid". He'll be 23 before the end of the year. He won his silver medal 5 years ago and turned pro a year later. Pac was a world champ at 19, MAB had notched up 3 succesful world title defences by the time he was Amir's age, and Trinidad had managed an impressive 6.

If he loses, the "young kid" excuse won't wash. It will be time to face the reality that either the corners cut in his career path were to blame, or that he simply wasn't good enough.

The resurrection of Lazarus will be nothing compared to how many times Frank can raise this cash cow from death.

I doubt that mate......Kotelnik is not even famous in his own living room, Prescott is still a virtual unknown (despite beating Khan) and Hatton is heading into retirement in next 12 months.

Beating them on back of a loss to Kotelnik wouldn't even put him in the p4p top 20-25 in my opinion.

Well, I can't see them selling out an Arena the size of the MEN if Khan loses again.

To be fair, the card couldn't BE much more attractive. Lots of good match ups on it, and if that can't sell out the MEN, then what (at the moment) can?

Cynic wonders how many will go ahead. Many have fallen through in the past...

When Khan loses, this will seriously be the end of the road, noone is going to get conned any more, Frank will try and resurrect him but he'd have to drag out some corpse like Morales for him to feast on. "Can Khan defeat ANOTHER Mexican legend? Good god, as if one wasn't enough!"

Absolutely true. I think if he lost badly again he would have to set his sights lower and try to prove himself at British and Euro levels before another attempt at a World title. Thats the path I believe he should have taken to gain the experiance he needs to fight World class fighters. Gavin Rees although smaller has very fast hands but Kotelnik was able to deal with the formally undefeated fighter, and maybe he can cope with Khans handspeed also.

If he loses why should he be allowed to fight for the british title. Wasnt good enough the first time why should it if he loses. But we all know Khan wont lose anyway. Dodgy stoppage comes to mind.

If he does lose I would love him to go back to British level and fight the likes of Murray and Thaxton or go to Eur level and fight Meezache. I definetly think he should move back to LW there are better fights at LW for him but realistically if he loses this I cant see him ever being a ligit world champ

That is definitely my worry, that the referee intervenes and stops it, the minute Khan looks like he is on top.

But it's a WBA fight so Dave Parris/O'Connor can't be appointed can they? Frankie better invest in some top notch hospitality for our faceless continental friend.
