I would love to see Martin Lindsay go on and win a world title and dedictate it to John.

Caldwell won a version of the bantamweight title and had no fear venturing to Brazil to unify the title but, unfortunately, his rival champ was one Eder Jofre, an absolute legend. Caldwell always looked like a tough nut, head shaven when it wasn't fashionable. He had a natural rival in Belfast in Freddie Gilroy but the Jofre fight had taken a lot out of Caldwell and Gilroy got the better.
Arguello, Caldwell, Gatti... This is a terrible time for boxing.

Caldwells funeral takes place today. I think that Gatti's death has overshadowed the passing of this Great Irish Sporting Legend. His fight against Freddie Gilroy is legendary in Belfast.
RIP champ.

R.I.P. Jonny
Like so many I think he hit upon hard times. A fella I work with played darts in a pub and remembers lifting Jonny literally out of the gutter once and into a taxi home. Terrible shame for a fearless warrior.
