Could it happen? Rematch of the century!

Gunn has managed to earn himself another world title shot (result not given to avoid spoliers) , this time for the IBF!

He has fought some,,, cough cough,,, "quality" opponents to earn that shot!

Why do you have to keep saying "(spoiler)"? Was this highly anticipated, 50/50, pick 'em fight on delayed broadcast in the UK?

But some people can get remarkably moody about having the results of a fight "spolit". Better safe than sorry and all that!

I once mention the result of a British fight, after it had happened (obviously, otherwise how would there be a result) and got shouted at by people for spoiling it, as it was being shown as highlights later that evening.

Although in this instance I was just taking this piss a bit.

How the FOK Gunn made it through four completed rounds, I'll never know. Adamek must have had both his arms blown clean off by a bomb or something.

Herbie Hide should have been given that shot.

adamek was likely carrying him, putting less into the shots and throwing faster flurries - this was before a big home crowd apparently. also, adamek generally doesn't throw every shot as a power shot, which mac did to stop gunn quickly, and which mac did burning himself out v afolobi. i said adamek wouldn't stop him in one round.

I've just thought, as a Canadian, Bobby Gunn is a legit challenger for the commonwealth title. I wonder if we will see him on these shores again fighting for it?

He's US American, not Canadian. Although labels himself the "Celtic Warrior" these days, like ebvery other white American.

I think its because Gunn has guts and a decent beard. Not much else.

Adamek's handlers are the one's open to criticism.

I only just won -- I bet the under on 4.5 rounds being completed.

this is what happens when a legit, exciting champion doesn't get Showtime or HBO money, sadly, and even if he can draw a big live gate. you'd think someone would have picked up adamek v godfrey or adamek v glen johnson.

still, when a warrior faces tough opponents like o'nel bell, steve cunningham and jonathan banks, it's not a crime to step down vs gary gomez and bobby gunn. adamek is likely to rematch cunningham later this year - perhaps october - so if that happens he'll have had an eventful and active year. a crap world title fight.

but if cunningham rematch turns up on HBO or Showtime, then at least the 2 fighters will be paid what they are worth, considering the quality of their last fight.

no he was billed from (hackensack, new jersey, usa) but born in virginia? what suprised me was the huge 11 year gap in his record, his team say he had between 40 and 50 unsanctioned bare-knuckle bouts in this time!

"dont worry guy's im not a member of the bobby gunn fan club or anything, was just going through some old fights programs the other night and came across this one!" honest???

Paschal Collins told me a while back he was trying to tempt Bobby Gunn into an Irish cruiserweight title fight with big Jon O'Brien. What a barn stormer that could have been!

Bobby is, by most accounts, a thoroughly decent fellow from what I hear and hard not to like.
