not sure how many of you have seen this event that is going to be in vegas in oct. fans can vote online for who they think is the greatest fighter in each of the 8 old-school weight classes and then an all-time pound for pound award will be given also. holmes, duran, and hearns say they will be in attendance and it sounds like a pretty cool event.

but there's one big problem. sam langford is not included in the voting in any of the weight classes!!! sam "fornicating" langford! the man i consider to be one of, if not the best fighter ever is not included in the heavyweight or light heavyweight divisions. the heavyweights listed are ok and i don't have too much of a problem but sam should have at least been included in the light heavy division. look at the fighters listed. who's greater?? sam langford or joe calzaghe?? this is embarrassing and seeing this pissed me off. if your going to be talking about the greatest fighters ever, you need to include langford who is without question one of the best ever.

your talking about a fighter who if given the opportunity would have had a great chance to win the lightweight, welterweight, middleweight, light heavy and heavyweight championships. unbelievable!

That's a big omission, difficult to pinpoint a weight class for Sam. They have to include him P4P. A bigger laugh is Pryor & Oscar at 147.

Let's hope they didn't leave Peter Jackson or Harry Wills out of the equation.

That's what I thought too. Plus they have Darchinyan as the best flyweight ever.

In general, those lists are kinda sparse and flawed. They should've just let people type in the names they wanted, though I suppose that would've been too hard to tabulate. But at the very least, they needed more and better choices.

Ray Robinson should have this on lockdown in my view, followed closely by Henry Armstrong!

Should be a good event. Let the tributes to all the greats start flowing in!
