Looks like hes staying very active which is a good sign and his team are starting to bring over the Americans now also. Alex will beat Cliff but Solo failed to put him away over 8 rounds. Hopoate was lucky Cliff flew in the day of the fight and basically failed to come out of his corner after 4 rounds so Hoppa failed to KO him also.

Basically what im saying is the TOP guys take Couser out at this time in his career in 1/2 rounds. Hoppa and Sol failed to do that. Will be interesting to see how Alex handles him.

Also Jason Barnett may fight Alex in August. Barnett fought De Mori and by his own admission wasnt in great shape. He'll be fit and ready for Leapai if the fight comes so will be a good test for Leapai as Barnett has faced Audley Harrison and Vinny Maddalone in the past.

Without wishing to incur the wrath of my Australian friends, shouldn't this topic be about what on earth Leapai has done to deserve a world ranking, rather than congratulating him on it?

i've been hearing the same thing down blacktown bringing over the Americans,it shows that alex's trainer Noel Thornberry is slowly getting him their not rushing him in to it not like other trainers for example - HOPPA :KO:

Ahh...... shouldn't that question be applied to most of the ranking systems.

yeah that's on point, i remember once Nader Hamdan was ranked number 1, he was 32-0 and he hadn't fought anyone credible, and then he still lost to Sam Soliman. No ranking systems mean anything really.

But Say for instance someone ranked 4 wants an easy fight and to step up, would beating someone ranked 10 boost his ranking?

To give the regional belts significance the ABCs give you a world ranking for winning one... no surprise there. Even less of a surprise is oliver coming on for a whinge.

Alex Leapai v Shawn Estrada - i think that would be a good test for Alex...Shawn would be the victor thou.

i meant Jason Estrada, always get them mixed up. He is good enough to test Alex.

Do you think Alex could be Audley Harrison??

Sorry, I didn't realise going 1-1 with Colin Wilson is a legit CV to be called the 14th best heavyweight in the world. You thought I was whingeing, whereas perhaps I'm just ill-informed. Sorry guys. Any truth to the rumour the winner of Hoppa-Mirovic 2 will get a world title shot?

so why is Demori ranked 20 in the world by WBA who wouldn't even take on any of the top 10 heavyweights in aussie when here's an opportunity for him to fight one of them on the 31st of august in perth, but he's lined up for Karusa who has a rec of 1 & 1 and it's meant to be a lead up to the big one's in the state :witzend:

Coundn't have anything to do with the fact that all the sanctioning bodies are run by crooks who are more than willing to rank fighters for 'favours'?

Interestingly, Boxrec rates Soliman as no 16 super middle on the all time list.

Jesus. Leapai deserves it more than Basile, at least.

just got home but very interesting is it me or i'm seeing look a likes i'm sure it was alex leapi tonight at the valley night club brisbane drunk disorderly who was cursing big time i was scared to go up to say hi just look like trouble was coming for him with other island guys that were their :shame: if it's leapi i don't think i'll be fan of his very sad to see talent going to waist over booze and wouldn't be surprise if his trainer was part of the drunken comrades.Important notice to all boxers they have to remember that they're professionals if they behave disorderly in public suffer the consequences, leapi you don't deserve the 14WBO rating give it to some one who's committed to get australia up in the heavyweight world ranks.

thats disappointing to hear chances are it wasn't him but if it is than he should get a reality check he's set for end of November showdown on foxtel against the Japanese he drew with i'm starting to see why joe bugner was talking about leapai's fitness not wanting it more than others theirs your answer

Disappointing indeed.
Pissing up in a night club to overcome Samoa's current situation is an extremely bad excuse.

Terribly sad as it is...it seems life goes on.
I was given this last night http://www.boxrec.com/schedule.php?coun ... &SUBMIT=Go

It would be understandable to get on the piss after what happened in Samoa, but I'd venture that David Tua went about things in a much better manner - focus and give his nation a reason to cheer.

It may not have been him. Perhaps he did have a big night out. Who knows, but unless he did actually get into trouble i'm not going to condemn him for it.
