Was reading the 2 page spread in Sun and a former spar of Ricky Hatton is to undergo a sex change. The dad of three is going to be called Mercedes following full HRT therapy.

I find it a facinating story to be honest. He was born with both genders, but was brought up a man by his strict family and since then has done every 'macho' thing in the macho man's handbook from bodybuilding to boxing.

What's more intriguing is that he/she is reported to be fighting Michael Gomez next !

He's never sparred with Ricky Hatton, I was in the same camp from the day he entered til' he was asked to leave for getting in the way. He was asking to train saying he was fighting in the states etc. He was a compulsive liar who in the end was allowed to train, in exchange to paint Billy Graham's iguana tank as he IS a good artist.

He had about 4 rounds sparring with Matthew Hatton.... That was it. The following month I was reading a local newspaper saying he had prepared Ricky for Kostya Tszyu, and had 3 fights lined up in the states with zab judah & ben tackie!

He seems harmless enough.... He told me he had been sparring Juan Urango and that he was going to go through a script in the Gomez fight that would involve him doing some 'mayweather moves'..... That would have been pretty interesting to watch but I don't think Mike really would have gone for that. Did he display any Mayweather like boxing skills while you were there Smigga? lol

This is the guy who was going to fight Gomez in an unlicenced bout in Lancashire a couple of Saturdays ago (presumably still as a fella)- Gomez didn't turn up (big thread about it.)

Am sure my mate (and former pro) Ian Cooper gave him a licking on an EBF show in Hartlepool last year. He's bobbins at fighting if I remember rightly.

Perhaps a good thing this bout didn't go ahead then- Gomez may well have seriously injured him.

I have no idea, I'm only going off what was said on these forums, and an article in a local paper (which was written before the fight date.)
