Surprised so early thought he might struggle with the usually awkward taller Lomax but obviosly not good result for Brook

I don't think anyone thought Lomax had the tools to beat Brook, but a 3 round stoppage is very good work for Brook.
Looking forward to hopefully watching the highligts later.

I was expecting Lomax to Brook some trouble to start off with. As I said above, I'm now sold.

piece from the fw site.....
Kell Brook underlined just why he's being talked about as a potential star of the future when he stopped Michael Lomax in three rounds at the MEN Arena.
"Special K" lifted the Lonsdale belt outright as he made a successful third defence of his British welterweight title and continued his streak of KO wins.
He has needed just nine completed rounds to get his hands on boxing's most famous piece of silverware, and it's unlikely to be the last championship that he lifts.
The 23-year-old is now unbeaten in 20 fights - 13 of his victories have come early - and looks ready to make a step up in class.
Whether he does so or not immediately is a moot point - he's been ordered to defend his British title against current Commonwealth champion John O'Donnell, and the fight could be both lucrative and good for his career.
Another potential domestic dust up would pitch Brook against former world title challenger Michael Jennings, a dangerous fight that would tell us more about both men.
At the MEN, Lomax had his moments in the first round - he landed a three-punch combination in the opening session which hinted at better things to come - but his lack of power meant he was always unlikely to trouble Brook.
The challenger - who came to the ring as the Prizefighter champion - began feeling some of Brook's shots in the second, the champion effortlessly generating enough power to have his opponent wobbling.
Then, in the third, a succession of punches had Lomax all at sea, and he emerged from a one-sided exchange with a cut under his right eye.
Referee Dave Parris was soon to intervene, and Lomax had little complaint when he was rescued with the time at 2'41.
He drops to 16-2-1 with the defeat, the first time he's been halted inside the distance

Impressive stuff and Brook does seem to generate power with the simplest of punches, very natural and could well go onto be a world champ, cant see any reasons why not.

I hope some of the doubters are converted.
There is no one domestically who could handle him.
However, he has got his dream, phase one of his career is over, he has the Lonsdale Belt outright.
Time to move on now, and I personally can't wait.
Ezekiel is the next big thing.
Quality.

Brook's a big talent, very tidy, fast and compact. He switches very fluidly and he hits with accuracy and power. Seems to fight a lot of southpaws and so we are getting used to watching him batter ppl with right hands and left hooks.
Not sure i like the look of him on the inside, but then again he was in vs a very tall opponent (as was the case v barry jones).
not sure he can make it all the way unless the right opponents are brought in. i mean international names. the money is there for khan - who only recently seems to have reached ring maturity - but will the money be there to bring in fighters that will develop brook?

My mate watched Brook and O'Donnell spar at Nottingham.
Quite close i heard.
Brook has a dig on him, that could be the splitter.

Michael lomax is a close friend of mine and I was one of the people that thought he could cause an upset. After watching brook last night I will be the first to say that ge will no doubt be a world champ. John o donnell will get blown away by brook as will anyone domestically. Lomax said that he's been hit harder but it was the sheer quantity, accuracy and speed that made the difference. I stand corrected.

I'm a big fan of Kell brook and think he's the bizz.
But - Sorry but I didnt see any possible way that Lomax was going to win this whatsoever.
I really want to see Brook in with a decent operator as Stuart Elwell, Lomax etc are average at best.
For a fighter destined for World class, a fighter supposedly having a world title fight THIS YEAR, a fight with Lomax is not really the litmus test is it ?
In a era with the new Super Six being launched, we get a card choc full of cack.
Hall vs Small was a nice blend of personalities and styles, otherwise it was a poor night in my book when expected to have to fork out £15 for it. The event was perhaps Saturday night material, but certainly not PPV.
Let's not disguise why Kotelenik was employed last night - he's a level below Bradley, Holt etc and stylistically is far less dangerous.
ITV4 provided the better entertainment = especially for the cost !

i think kotelnik's as good as bradley but of course, likely, he was chosen because his steadiness and poise could be shown up as slowness and lack of speed/urgency/intensity

Technically i'd agree.
But he does not bring the heat like Bradley does.
Ive watched both in the flesh and Bradley is a handful.

Totally agree. Khan was a stlistic nightmare. A fiery brawler like Maidana (who Kotelnik beat) would be a greater risk for Khan.
As for Brook, really looking forward to seeing him against stiffer opposition. Big prospect imo.
