I am after info about my Great Great Grandfather Alexander Fisher. He was a middle weight b boxer in the British Army. Family story has it he actually held a world title around 1905-1910??? Anyway can you please provide me with any information you have or any suggestions of where I can try get some more info???
Alexander served in the Boer War 1899-1902. He was Scottish. Earliest info I have on him was his marriage to Alice Boyd in New Stevenston, North Lanarkshire, Scotland in 1902. He died young. Died 1925 Newstevenston Scotland. Leaving a wife and 5 daughters.Have also heard back in the fifties some time after his death an article was written on Alexander Fisher... not sure if this was in a newspaper/boxing magazine or what?
