By Paul Upham: Manchester boxer Matthew Hatton, the younger brother of former world champion Ricky Hatton, will get a shot at new IBO welterweight boxing world champion Lovemore Ndou at Emperor’s Palace in Kempton Park, South Africa on September 12.
“September 12, it is going to happen,” Ndou told SecondsOut on Saturday. “The Matthew Hatton fight has been agreed to. Gareth Williams, Hatton’s lawyer, was there at ringside for my last fight. We are waiting to sign the contracts, but everything has been agreed to.”
When I fought Paul Malignaggi in Manchester in 2008, Matthew fought on the undercard,” said Ndou. “I have seen about three or four of his fights. He is not in my league. He might be younger than me, but I believe I am going to take him to scho

I thought M Hatton was fighting Judah on the undercard of Mayweather-Marquez?
While I'd strongly favour him to lose both, he might as well gun for the bigger name on the bigger stage, just in case he gets lucky...

LOL, I can't believe you don't get it.
Lovemore should get by hatton easily.

Never will happen for them, it reminds me of the brother hanging on to the shirt tails.
There's always one talented and one not so talented brother is'nt there.

N'dou has an iron chin, good skills and has been on the fringes of world class for the best part of a decade, Hatton isn't even the best welter in Britain, he got beat easily by Craig Watson.

The Judah/Hatton fight is still on the schedule. The bloke Kostya Tszyu knocked down twice with one punch has not had a real good win/loss record in the last four years anyway. He briefly held an IBC Light Middleweight title which he did not defend. How far down the Alphabet List is that?

Fringe? N'dou did win the IBF Junior Welterweight title.

Yeah he was briefly a champion, i think cusp is correct, he has lost all his big fights, Cotto,Witter,Mallignaggi x2,Cintron ect.
He has fought everyone and has some good wins, but Lovemore hasn't ever really dominated a division.

He almost beat Cotto on a weeks notice and he deserved a win over Mallignaggi. I don't recall seeing the Witter or Cintron fights...

I never seen the fights either, but they happened. Are we disagreeing that he has been just on the fringe???????
He won a vacant title and lost in his first defence. I seen the the fight against ben rabah and it was a classic but against the best he has really been unable to pull out THAT win.

A vacant title, against a guy not in any sane person's top 10.
Good fighter, but "fringe world class" is appropriate.

Witter was on form that night until he broke his hand and then N'dou came back into it and made it a tough fight, haven't seen the Cintron fight myself but yeah I agree he was unlucky in the Malignaggi rematch.

The Cintron fight was at 147. Cintron was way too big. Di Bella got Ndou that fight as a kind of favor to Lovemore for getting a dud deal against Paulie in the rematch.
Ndou told me last night that the Hatton fight is on (I think he said Sept???) although it will probably be held in Manchester as opposed to Sth Africa where it was originally supposed to be.

You mean "against a bloke who was robbed against Urango in Florida". Even Urango's home town crowd booed the decision, you goose.

When you're done patting each other's backs, perhaps you can point me in the direction of any evidence that disproves my quote about Ben Rabah not being in any sane person's top 10?
And since when has Urango been top-drawer anyway? His two trips to top world class ended in comprehensive defeat. The Ngoudjo win was decent enough, but he too is fringe world class.
I said Ndou is a decent enough fighter; he's a good watch, always gives 100%, is not shy of a challenge, and so on. But latching on to his vacant alphabet strap win against a compatriot who has done nothing of note in world class before or since not beating Urango does suggest it is you lot who are bending over backwards to praise your boys, rather than me bending over backwards to criticise them.
And for the record, I firmly believe Ndou would kick M Hatton's ass.

Urango does happen to be the current IBF Light Welterweight Champion.
Must mean something.

Yes it does mean something, as I said the Ngoudjo win was pretty decent, but Urango's last fight saw him beaten convincingly. Yes, I know it was a weight up, but Hatton dominated him at LWW too. Furthermore, Urango's two reigns only came through vacant title wins, both times when a clearly superior champion dropped the belt.
Look, I'm not saying Urango, and by association Ndou and Ben Rabah are no good, but when you judge them against the other names in the division - and their results against them - it's not unfair to rank them as "fringe" world class.

So how many fighters, in your opinion, in each division are world class? By the sounds of it you are saying only two or three, maybe four... no wonder none of the Title holders ever fight "world class" opponents...
