Possibly the worst post seen here for a long time.TheCobra wrote:Old news I suppose, but it's obvious for anyone to see - eat like poop and live a wild life, then train like mad for a professional sport, then do that in cycles over several years - you're gona put your body under a hell of a lot of undue stress rather than keeping a certain middle ground.
There's nothing wrong with a session now and again as you well know (and subscribe to!) but he has a valid point about the up-and-down nature of Hatton's lifestyle. From extreme to the other. It's worse than constantly drinking or constantly training because switching between the two makes both harder work for the body. At least if you drink consistently the body gets used to it (although it's by no means a good thing!).Khaosai-Galaxy wrote:Possibly the worst post seen here for a long time.TheCobra wrote:Old news I suppose, but it's obvious for anyone to see - eat like poop and live a wild life, then train like mad for a professional sport, then do that in cycles over several years - you're gona put your body under a hell of a lot of undue stress rather than keeping a certain middle ground.
TheCobra is spot on.Khaosai-Galaxy wrote:Possibly the worst post seen here for a long time.TheCobra wrote:Old news I suppose, but it's obvious for anyone to see - eat like poop and live a wild life, then train like mad for a professional sport, then do that in cycles over several years - you're gona put your body under a hell of a lot of undue stress rather than keeping a certain middle ground.

Actually K-G he's right, when I was in the army I could drink myself stupid one night but be able to run 10 miles the next day* but if I went on a 3 month binge and then tried to run 10 miles I'd fall apart after a mile. You can still live the life as long as you keep active.Khaosai-Galaxy wrote:Possibly the worst post seen here for a long time.TheCobra wrote:Old news I suppose, but it's obvious for anyone to see - eat like poop and live a wild life, then train like mad for a professional sport, then do that in cycles over several years - you're gona put your body under a hell of a lot of undue stress rather than keeping a certain middle ground.

is there any medical evidence to support this?
i often wondered if it might be better to let your body totally relax and recover between training like a madman for a fight. wouldnt training constantly at such a high level also damage your body?
never seen a study about this but it would make interesing reading...
any evidence or is this your opinion?its not an either/or thing
you train with 100% intensity during the 'peaking' involved in a prefight training camp
but say you have 2 months between your last fight and training camp. it can't hurt to do a certain amount of light training 50- 75% intensity in the interim period.

I don't think it's a new thing with Hatton, but his ticket is probably working harder than ever now due to the size of him and the amount of kebab fat laying in his iveins.
He really needs to pack up boxing before his jam tart makes the decision for him. He has acheived much more and earned much more than he could ever imagined. I have no real liking for him or his people but he is a undoubtedly a public hero and a tragedy would be a terrible thing for the sport and all concerned. he should enjoy his kid and his cash and get out now.
