where would both tyson and ruddock stand had donovan ruddock won both fights as they were easily within his grasp

would ruddock of got a shot at a title sooner or whould he of fought bowe instead of lewis?

the tyson-holyfield match wouldnt of happened IMO if tyson had lost twice

I don't think the fights were ever in Razor's grasp . . he had a few decent flurries here and there but he was never going to beat Tyson without a left jab.

Ruddock would've lost to either Bowe, Evander, or Lewis.

Why do you think both fights were easily within Razor's grasp? Yes he got some good punches in and showed great heart and toughness, but he took pretty bad beatings in both fights. He was never the same again after the Tyson fights

Razor had two chances and it was clear Tyson, while struggling at points
was able to clock Ruddock.

I have always wanted to see a Ruddock Mercer or Ruddock-Holyfiled fight
around that time as i think they would have matched well.

Morrison was able to decimate Ruddock, and I think at any point they
met, Tyson would have done much the same.

It is sad he went down so easily at the hands of Lewis as this really seemed
to have stunted his career.

B/c Ruddock had 19 rounds and he never even came close to beating Tyson. Razor after the Dokes fight started believing his own hype and was a fighter always just looking for one punch i.e his Smash left hook/uppercut. Not only did he lack the boxing ability neccesary to outbox Tyson like Douglas or Holyfield did, but Tyson had a very good chin and was able to take Razor's Sunday punch without even going to the canvas once. He really had no shot at beating Tyson and the fights proved that.

I agree, the Ruddock of the late 80s was more of a boxer who had a
decent jab and seemed to be more patient and set his game up. But
then all of a sudden he looked for that uppercut and bam over worked
it. He seemed to do it more and more as though it would save him when
he needed it....Tyson...Morrison etc.

At that level you need to be more than a one trick pony. Tyson was
too good to get caught and when he did as DF said...his chin and
movement nullified it anyhow.

imo, Ruddock was finished after the 2nd bout.

Tyson obviously at the point (and later on after Prison) practically forgot the jab, and was looking to KO his opponent.

Ruddock test Tyson's chin repeatedly. But Tyson's chin has always been cast iron. Only problem being his heart, but that day his heart was good.

Ruddock after that just lots his big bouts, and was clearly not the same guy that faced Greg Page.

- Where would Jean Pierre Coopman rank had he beaten Ali? He had him in the palm of his hand and let it slip through like shifting sands.

What if Bobby Gunn had made Adamek punch himself out?

What if Iron Boy knocked out Valuev in sparring? Would that make him the best p4p slugger in history? Would that cause an earthquake Russia leading to a tsunami in Indonesia?

The real knock on the prime Razor is his blow out loss to Lewis.
The Tyson fights gave him credibility. It was the destruction
at the hands of Lewis that wiped him out of consideration for
good and gave Lewis the number 1 spot.

So maybe we should ask..what if he had of hung on against
Lewis or..beat Lewis.

Ruddock would've lost to either Bowe, Evander, or Lewis.
I think he would of lost to Tommy Morrison aswell. Prolly by KO in da mid to late rounds.
