Any news on what the future holds for Hayemakers boxers? John Watson, David Price, Groves etc...

I've heard that they are on favourable (financially) contracts... but useless if they arn't getting the work.

I think there's a non televised show coming up in September.
I think Price will feature predominantly.

Fighters don't get paid unless they fight, regardless of their Promotor.
I don't know where you're getting your info from, but I wouldn't say Hayemaker fighters are treated any better or worse than what any other Promotor would offer them.

Rumour has it - yes they are on a decent basic for each fight but I think they get some sort of % of the profit on the shows.

but problem is that aint going to be a lot on non tv shows!!!

I'm sure signing on fees were a feature for the likes of Price - but like I say, that would have been no different regardless of the Promotor he decided to sign with.
No different to the Olympians who signed with Wazza for instance.
I don't think any existing pros who signed with them received any financial incentive.

Yes very true he has had 1 fight since turning pro most of the other Olympians have had at least 3 and his mate Fury has had 7 he should of been fighting at least once a month imo

Yes, I know fighters don't get paid unless the fight- hence my comment about good contracts being useless if they arn't getting the work!

I don't know what other promotors would offer them, of course, but I know what a couple of the Hayemaker fighters got for the Liverpool show (and I presume others get similar-) and it sounds pretty decent to me.

So now i know where my PPV money goes... Frankie's flat and his supper !

Some elite fighters get a signing on fee, and a small amount get a wage.
For example when JC turned pro in the early 90's Duff paid him a salary of 300 quid a week, and when his purses outweighed this salary he would get the difference

Slightly off topic, but relevant to the recent posts- the term "journeyman" actually comes from the French "Jour" meaning "day." IE a skilled worker who was paid by the day, usually on a come-and-go basis. the next step up would be guildsman or master craftsman, when they would run their own business.

But yeah- "Jour"ney man, was a bit like the middle ages version of a temp, or a supply teacher!

What would a journeyman stand to make on average?I would imagen they could make a decent living if they were busy enough
