light welter and Amir Khan

do you guys reckon Amir is gong to stick at light welter for a while or is going back to lightweight the moment he loses?
i think the whole division is opening up now with most of the 'old guard' finally giving way to the new guys and most of the champs having 25 fights or less.
do you think Amir is going to hold onto his belt for long, i'm thinking the WBA is going to strip him unless he gets some tough opposition to defend against.
do you think that given some of the old stalwarts of the division turning out to be on the slide (Hatton and Witter for example) and some of the lower weight fighetrs wanting to have a go in this weight division, that Amir Khan can make a successful career as a light welter?

Good Question
For me Khan would beat the 3 other Belt Holders Tim Bradley, Juan Urango and Devon Alexander so by the end of 2011 he could be Undisputed Light Welterweight Champion by the age of 24 which would be quite an achievement so YES he should definately stay in this Weight Division, its his for the taking!

Khan would have a good chance against Devon Alexander, but Bradley's more dangerous because he jumps in head first, literally. Khan would get bashed about by Bradley's head. Urango is too dangerous for Khan.

When he loses, he's automatically got an excuse lined up. 'This isn't my natural weight divisionzzzzzzzz'

Light welter is there for the taking in my opinion, Bradley is clearly the man to beat at 140 (other than Pacquiao, but he's not really in the 140lb picture due to his superstar status) and I think Khan is more than capable of doing that. Khan would pick him off easily on the way in and I could see him stopping Bradley to be honest. Of course nothing is certain with Khans chin, but thats the same whether he's at 135 or 140. The route to the top is much easier and clearer at 140 right now for Khan. Urango has been outboxed a couple of times now, so its not like people will be crying out for Khan Urango fight and the other belt holders are Alexander and Bradley I rekon they're very winnable fights for Khan.

I think he should stay at LWW as his punch resistance is better as he has stronger legs and he can take more advantage of his speed I think he can be a decent world champion at LWW

There's a lot of confidence about in Khan beating Bradley. I think Timmy boy would kayo Amir in 6. Bradley is a class act, skilled and very strong. And in his natural weight division.

im amazed at people being confident about khan beating bradley. bradley is relentless, technically proficient, and very very strong. he bangs hard enough to hurt khan and wont be deterred easily. khan remains brittle, and at 140 i think he will struggle to hurt his opponents.

i don't rate him that highly. 2 of his defences have come against blown up lightweights (cherry and campbell). ok bradley is solid, has the win over holt which looks alright.
i'm not sold on bradley. he might be a fesity little fighter, but appears small for a light welter, can't really punch, and seems lacking in real presence or charisma. it's not an event when bradley fights, is it? perhaps because of that, i could see him be willing to travel for a khan fight. when khan is ready for him, of course.
bradley does put on decent pressure, and of course khan is a rookie champ who needs looking after, so he can display this or that quality, and solve this or that problem, in managable little steps.
bradley reminds me a bit of juan diaz. he puts pressure on and his opponents look like they're not interested. witter went into his negative mode, holt didn't seem to be trying, campbell gave up once he got his injury...what happens when he faces a tough nut who stands up to him? diaz fell apart when he faced nate campbell and marquez.
perhaps bradley would be more willing to go for it, to go out there and gamble, than kotelnik, though.

brook has the ability and the more refined style, to beat khan. not sure he has the experience and i'm not sure warren would put perhaps his 2 biggest talents in together. also, would it be wise to move DOWN when he's had problems making 147?
brook's just as quick but appears to hit harder and is much more tight and compact than khan. seems to have better timing, better variety, better technique. not as light on his feet but that means he plants his feet and gets better leverage into his shots.

i think LWW Is definately his natural weight division he used to kill his body to make lightweight think that was the main problem for him being so chinny plus hes only came in at 135 or under 10 times in his career al though he may be fighting at 'lightweight' when a titles not on the line they hardly every come under the limit
