Will this fight ever happen?
Does Murray deserve a title shot?
Murray is still unbeaten?

Lets hope so, but going on Warren & Hennessys history of putting their top fighters in against each other I'm not too hopeful, although Cleverly Vs McIntosh does give me some hope.

There are probably mre deserving boxers for a title shot than Murray, but if he can land the European title he's in prime position IMO.

Yes he is.

If the fight were to happen pre-Roach I'd have the fight down as a 50-50 or 60-40 Khan, but Amirs come on leeps and bounds since his move to LA and I'd strongly fancy Amir to take Murray apart and stop him

He won the Commonwealth title and defended it against the English Champion. The Board wouldn't allow it for the English as well as, at the time, they were only allowed as 10 round fights.

The so called traditional route of British, Commonweath and European is okay in the ideal world but ask any fighter if they wouldn't sacrifice any of these for a shot at or indeed winning a world title. Khan has a good Promoter guiding him so if he was fast tracked, possibly he was, it worked didn't it?

People on here criticised the amount of time Hatton 'trod-water' with the WBU title before getting a real title shot (He wouldn't have beaten Tszyu earlier would he?) and the amount of time it took Calzaghe to rise to the top (Lacy) after years as WBO champion. Now when a young guy gets let of the leash early, especially months after a devastating setback, the critiscism is still forthcoming.

History tells us that many fighters following the traditional route of Area-British-Commonwealth-European are usually too old or shop-worn by the time the world title comes along. I grant you that Froch and Lennox (Both won vacant titles remember) maybe an exception to the rule, but in the main it usually transpires that when the fighter does get his chance, usually as the mandatory, then there will be an exceptional fighter as the champion and they will end up fighting away from home and usually getting beaten.

Promoting and Managing is a skill, anyone can secure a shot for a fighter, but the knack is doing it at the right time when all the boxes are ticked and the fighter has the best chance of winning.

Kotelnik, Kessler, Tszyu, McCall and even Winky Wright were enticed by big purses to face men Warren thought could beat them at that moment in time, he hasnt made many mistakes in this respect.

If it does I would fancy Murray to sworm Khan into making mistakes and punishing him by mid-late KO but Khan up on the cards

Pretty sure Khan would stop him within six rounds now. Khan has everything Murray hates.

Fair he beat kotelnik but as we know kotelnik was the worst champion out there

Kotelnik was a decent champion - he beat Maidana who beat Ortiz, the next big thing apparentely.

And vice versa, however, after the kotelnik performance my mind has swung towards Khan beating Murray. Khan paced the fight so well, and appeared satisfied on the backfoot as appose to "crowd pleasing" up close.

Murray Thaxton si a good enough contest for me, followed by a euro shot for the winner (murray).

I can't see Khan making the weight now.

Murray/Thaxton is pointless for me now.

Agreed but like i stated kotelnik was the worst champion at the time
I woud like to see khan box the following
1 Manny Pacquiao
2 Timothy Bradley
3 Ricky Hatton

I couldnt see khan beating any of the above
maybe a rematch with Breidis Prescott

Pacquiao takes him out early. Bradley's a very interesting fight, but it's unfair to put Khan in with him just yet. And Hatton's coming off a loss, so Khan could well take him, but with the Sports Network/Hatton Promotions divide. I don't think that will ever happen.

Yes hatton is coming off a loss to the best guy in the division
Hatton would beat khan no problems there

I think he could beat him, but the way Hatton is at the moment, could you really say for certain that Khan would lose? I am a big Hatton fan, and I can't say that.

Pacquiao would KO Khan easily he is way out of his league and plus what would Pac gain out of beating Khan nothing imo Bradley would beat him as well as Khan looks as if he struggles when he is put under pressure and Bradley would pressure him into making mistakes and punish him with that right hand and I think Hatton still has it left and would KO Khan as well he should as for the Murray-Thaxton fight no point now imo Thaxton looked terrible in his last fight and Murray would easily beat him imo :box:

Yes mate he has lost twice against the best two fighters there as been been for a long time
Hatton has alot more experience than khan
Hatton is a bigger puncher
He would be in Khans face from the off
Khan hasnt been boxed like that before

I disagree that it would be that easy for Hatton.

I agree with your sentiment, but I don't agree with "easily." That's all, big man.
