of the faded fighters they did beat?

You know the drill. Fighter A( younger/fresher talent/potentially top fighter) fights Fighter B( Faded top fighter/ATG/Hall of famer) and the consensus is in his prime Fighter B would have annilihated/destroyed/etc etc

What fights can you think of where Fighter A has fought a faded fighter and had a good chance IN YOUR OPINION of beating that said fighter even when he was in his prime?

I hope the question makes sense

One that comes to mind for me is Paul Williams v Winky Wright. I think Paul Williams gives any version of Winky Wright all he could handle

Lewis could have beat Holyfield and Tyson at their peaks.

Yes I know Tyson was a beast in his prime but I think he always would have struggled against Lewis.

I watched the Tyson v Douglas documentary online last night actually and Tyson was taken to school and knocked out, it was not just a lucky shot.

It reminded me that Tyson, once he had the 'fear' removed from his aura become just a very powerful stocky heavyweight - no longer an enigma (other than in the papers).

I think a fighter like Holyfield, who feared nobody but god, would have always beaten him.

Lewis could have got knocked out, but i'd fancy the chess player to jab Tyson's head off if he made it past 3 rounds.

A prime 1986 Mike Tyson trained by Kevin Rooney would have maimed Lennox Lewis and Buster Douglas in the same night.

Tyson's preparation leading up to the Buster Douglas was notoriously poor. Tyson was badly out of condition and its no coincidence that he got beat. Though in saying that, I seem to recall that Tyson still managed to drop Douglas and had him in a bad way at some stage during their fight.

Prime Tyson in the early rounds is absolutely terrifying.

Given that Holmes was out on his feet v Shavers you could argue a prime Tyson would have taken him....before he faded.

cotto was lucky to get the decision against mosely a draw was a fair result. I had mosely one up.

But looking at Mosley's record you could say he has yet to reach his prime its not as if he has a string of losses against mediocre fighters.
