..budd schulberg, author of the boxing novel "the harder they fall.." (suggested by the career of primo carnera ) is dead at the age of 95. he also wrote some short stories with boxing settings and some articles as well. he was upset when at the end of the movie based on his novel had the bogart character writing that boxing should be banned
"even if it takes an act of congress to do it". he was well aware if the seamier sides of the sport but just wanted boxing to be better regulated,

Schulberg wrote On the Waterfront and managed the career of a tricky heavyweight named Archie McBride. He was a real boxing man.
