Real shame, especially if things don't pan out in 2012.

So... he's signed a contract he cant get out of, and gets paid a salary. Is it me, or is that not pro!!

if i'm not mistaken if he breaks the contract to stay amatuer he has to pay back a lot of us funding. I'm not sure how true that is but i'm sure i read it somewhere.

He would get decent signing on bonus id have thought..if a top promoter signs him(which they would)im sure they would buy his am contract out or pay the funding hes had...

he has beaten some real top fighters since the games and i recently beat one of the top Russians in Croatia. It was cover on the boxing hour and if i remember correctly the Russian was considered top dog but cant remember his name.

Still say he should stay Am, anything can happen in the pro's . being 26/27 after the 2012 games isn't to old to make a big mark as a pro.
And imagine if he does strike gold, the world is at your feet.

He can earn a very good wage with the Am's as well.

Look at the some of the guys who turned pro after the Bejing olympics, a couple have only had 1 or 2 fights, will they be earning 60 to 80 grand this year?

I think he should stick to the am's rather than just make up the numbers on pro circuit undercards.

Lets hope the council give them some wedge.
