Current scene:
Promoter allegedly is talking up some potential opponents for Amir Khan, the WBA junior welterweight champion. Warren watched last week's 140-pound doubleheader and liked what he saw. Warren is crafty and if you read between the lines, he seems to be making some early hype for a potential unification clash between Khan and WBO champion Timothy Bradley. He says Bradley is the man to beat at the weight.
"Amir Khan announced himself as a major player at 140lb last month with his win over Andreas Kotelnik. But two young fighters in the States are also making waves, and backed up their world-class credentials last weekend. Timothy Bradley is the man to beat following a cut-eye, stoppage win over Nate Campbell," Warren said.
"The ending was controversial and Campbell's promoter Don King filed a protest with the WBO, whose title was at stake. But Bradley is already looking at bigger fights, and says he wants to face Ricky Hatton next. A mouth-watering unification fight against Khan is also on the horizon."
Warren had few good things to say about Junior Witter and his loss to Devon Alexander. Witter quit on his stool at the end of the eight round. Alexander won the vacant WBC title.
"He'll now be known as Witter the Quitter. Although Witter was WBC champ for nearly two years, he always lived in the shadow of Hatton. And I doubt fans will remember him fondly as he seemed to make a name for himself by running down other fighters," Warren said.

Khan fighting Bradley? It will NEVER happen. Khan's diet of fighting stiffs, bums, and lower weight fighters with poor knockout ratios will continue until he retires.
Its the patented and well used Fwank Warren formula for ripping off the sport that will unfortunantly continue as long as Fwank is still in the business. Its the reason I no longer folllow any of Warren's so called promotions and fighters. The man has ruined British Boxing and made it a shadow of its former self.

I have seen hundreds of bouts thank-you! Kotelnik was a very weak champion indeed. Khan will NEVER fight Bradley, you mark my words.
Khan has not fought bums, eh? I'm going to fall out of my wheelchair with laughter now!

No chance this fight happens.
Khan has only faced one undefeated fighter to date and we know how that went.
A fighter who runs like Khan, when faced with a good pressure fighter will crumble again.

Khan won't fight Bradley until he's been ko'd a few times and is on the slide, you can be assured that khans next few opponents will be either old, smaller or non punchers or all three in one,and no way was kotelnik a good world champ as i said in previous posts before khan beat him they chose kotelnik because they thought he was poor, khan even said he thought kotelnik was the worst world champ in the world and that wasn't to hype the fight because the match was made easily and it showed he was poor because he had absolutely no answer to khans movement.

Bradley's limited enough for Khan to win a UD. He's a little like Kotelnik but with more workrate and headbutts.

I'm sure Khan can neutralise Bradley and win a points decision against him, but I won't be paying to watch it. Khan's new style is very effective but very dull. I've no doubt Khan can get himself high on the pound-for-pound list over the next couple of years, but I don't really care to be honest. Good luck to him though - seems like a decent kid.

Got to disagree. Bradley isn`t the most devastating puncher in the division .. but when can you remember anybody flooring Witter so heavilly? with Khan`s chin - can you see him even trying to get up off the floor after having taken one of them?
Bradley is very under-rated, He has an excellent boxing brain and a work rate Khan would do well to stay with. He would certainly find the answer the plodding kotelnik could not.

Bradley looks sharp and competent.
All other things considered, it's very unlikely that Khan's first defence will be a unification fight.
Someone like Herman Ngoudjo seems to fit the bill better.
....
also, why do people think that a promotor "hinting a clash might happen" is a sign that it will happen? Doesn't experience tell us that, if anything, what is hinted at WON'T happen.

Why the sudden confidence in Khan? surely not simply because he outpointed a guy Gavin Reese was doing a good job with before he gassed it

Agreed. I think Khan could indeed nullify Bradley and win the fight. However, as you say, it would be boring as f*ck and I'd probably end up rooting for Bradley to catch Khan and make the fight interesting, because Khan would be making the fight so boring. I'd definitely pick Khan to win though and I wouldn't be surprised to see it happen next.

I'll bet as he becomes more comfortable fighting in that style, he'll take more risks and become a more exciting fighter. For example, I expect his punch power to increase as well as the effectiveness of it. This I envisage over the next few years. Anyone else feel the same ?

bradley is not a pressure fighter and is not a huge puncher!!
I take it you haven't seen many Tim Bradley fights if you don't regard him as a fighter that applies pressure. He is very busy and outworks all of his opponents.
Bradley is very aggressive and versatile. He can bang or box. He is also much faster than Kotelnik with both his hands and feet, so I don't know why people are saying Khan would win an easy UD in similar fashion to his win over the Ukrainian. He is not a limited fighter like Kotelnik. Bradley is not a huge puncher, but Khans chin is terrible. Whenever he gets hit flush he gets hurt. Bradley had Witter and Cherry on the floor, he had Holt afraid to throw punches, and he was overwhelming Cambell. If he lands clean he will hurt Khan.
People on here talk some crap Khan will kill Bradley. Khan has only faught bums??? he's practically at the start of his career what do you expect, and has just beat a decent fighter.
When you make a statement like that you should tell us your basis for it. I can see Khan beating Bradley, anyone with an educated boxing mind and a fair opinion could see why its a possibility, but why exactly do you come to the conclusion that he will kill Bradley? Bradley has great stamina, good speed and boxing skills, maintains a constant workrate through out the bout, and has gotten off the canvas from a hellascious left hook that would have had Khan sleeping like Hatton. To me its virtually a 50/50 fight, slight edge to Khan due to his size advantage, which will help him utilize his long distance attack.

agree 100% mate, i also think bradley is under-rated, and amongst other things both his punching power and speed are beign under-rated, when people are predicting some kind of repeat performance of khan-hotelnik when bradley is a natural pressure fighter whereas kotelnik was forced to fight a completely alient type of fight, for him, against Khan.

I just don't see it myself, khan has never had one punch power when he used to run in to other fighters so with the hit and run that he showed against kotelnik i can't see him suddenly becoming a puncher even over the next 3 to 4 years.

Khan got up after a very heavy knockdown from Prescott and was trying to get up after the 2nd (which the ref shouldn't have allowed in any case). I happen to agree that as Khan settles into his new style and develops confidence in it he will become better to watch. The challenge will always be to not get overconfident and get careless again.
