Which Promoter will bring us the best shows this year.

Which of the main British Promoters will bring us the best shows and who if any will fall by the way side,
All so which of them have the best matchmarker. And who will produce the next star of boxing.

Warren by a country mile. He puts on good fights when his back is against the wall. And his back is very firmly against the wall.

It depends what you class as "best."

Steve Wood puts on very popular shows- people buy a ticket, see their mate box ( and usually win), and have a good evening out as part of it.

Frunk Warrun puts on some very good cards, but the ticket prices mean the view can be much more limited for most fans- so is that "better?"

See what I mean?

A small hall show where you get a good view of a friend fighting, and pay about £30 for the ticket, might be a better show for a lot of people that a "mega-bill" at the MEN.

Hennessy easily in the last 12 months.

Froch vs Pascal (FOTY) Froch vs Taylor, Thaxton vs Melero, Mezzache, Murray vs McCallister, Barker vs McDermott, Tyson Fury's exploits. McIntosh vs Cleverly, O'Donnell vs Craig Watson, Elcock vs Macklin etc..

And best of all FREE.

Hennessy has put on some quality fights over the last year but no fighters will be stars, his best fighters Froch and Witter struggle to get mainstream exposure so the others have no hope.

Froch vs Pascal i agree with and Cleverly Vs McIntosh. Fury's fights have been terrible though, the guys can't put up a fight and exploit his open guard.

Ant,

Its a boxing forum and whilst you state you are typing the truth I seriously question your insecurity and claims on how well UFC is doing when you feel the need to keep coming onto a boxing forum to spout your claims!!

If UFC is that good - sit back, smile and allow the fans to flock to your forums and shows and let boxrec be!!! :TU:

ufc isnt boxing

however Prizefighter was the only time i bought tickets...for the simple reason that the nature of the tournament makes every fight exciting...no pissing about with olympians and tyson fury fighting bald midget russians in kilts !!!!

Hennessy for the best shows, especially as he normally puts them on close to or in the hometown of at least a couple of his fighters, giving a better atmosphere and to me it doesn't matter if they are ever going to be massive stars overnight Both of Frochs last 2 fights were 2 of the best and most exciting fights for years.

I also like any show at the York Hall or a small venue like York hall becuase the shows always seem better and at decent prices.

One of the best small hall promoters is Jack Bishop, he's never frightened of his fighters losing, it's just a pity the old man don't put on that many shows.

True but the Taylor fight which was the biggest of his career couldn't even get on live UK TV.

I'd let a monkey fly an airliner before I'd let MH promote me if I were a pro boxer.

Hennessy last year and it will be Hennessy this year. No comparison to the cheap and synthetic his peers put together.

Froch alone eclipsed everyone else in terms of achievment and the super six is better than anything any of the others can come up with. Makes prize fighter look like white-collar boxing.

Add all the other stars like Barker and Fury etc and the case is closed. 8)

A roll on the drums......Boxingchat and Spud unite and finally agree on something. This fool
is like a Magpie and this week it's UFC because they are paying him a wage, this week. With all the money the UFC chuck around you would think they would at least have a forum where dull individuals like Ant Evans could talk crap about the incestuous UFC circus, which is, at least in my opinion, a seriously well-polished turd!

I have to agree about UFC cards. People can bury their heads in the sands all they like, but UFC puts on regular, quality and extremely polished promotions, with great TV coverage.

I love a good well contested boxing match, but too many of them are uneven matchups these days.

Nothing UFC offers gets me as excited however as the likes of Mosley v Margarito, or Cotto v Pacman, these are incredible matchups.

There was a good piece on him in BN about 12 months ago (maybe more), he explained the losses that come from shows, said that he just about broke even, and that was with a healthy contribution from his sons salary - who pays the difference as his Dad enjoys it so much. Hope my kids are like that :TU:

For me WAS Hennessey for 2008-2009. Pascal vs Froch had a cracking atmosphere (sorry I am only judging on TV) and his ITV bills have been great.... His undercards have been good scraps....and main events really dissapointed.

What will it be like in 2009-2010 without ITV's input I don't know.

Yeah we will see. Slightly OT, but has Small re-signed with The Waz?

Just stating numbers pal, You can't fail with the classy operators I've named above, I think FW is still Small's manager ain't he?? He'll be fighting on FW bills I think..

Can I just ask - if Henessey is the real deal, with the best fighters, the best bills, best for the supporters etc - why can't he get a TV deal, and why couldn't he secure a deal in particular for Mr Froch last year ?
