- Ring is as much a promoter of boxing as it is a publisher of boxing. All were undefeated and Baby Joe still is. Audley had the size and Gold Olympic credentials, and Guinn, well, they needed a trio for the photo shoot, so 'nuff said!
More telling is how they kept missing the Klitschko bus that was near full steam by 2004. Pretty much sums up Ring relevancy in the modern era.

Yes, full steam ahead . . .as Klitschko had been annihilated by Sanders the previous year and the next month would be deposed of by perennial whipping boy Lamon Brewster.
Ring were always big proponents of Vitali, going so far as to naming him Ring champion after simply deposing of Sanders, breaking their own policy in the process.

tzyuforever, I've just used this cover on the British forum. I hope you don't mind. Imitation is the highest form of flattery.

I am taking a guess this was before the Jirov fight and from what i remember alot of people were picking mesi to be a future champ even after the life or death with barrett. I wasnt one of them however i did pick worse to be champs.
Harrison i think was just about to have his best performance of his pro life against The dutch sonny liston. Yes i still do think that was his best fight many people again were tipping him but alot were due to the gold medal. i doubt it was because of any thing else. And yes i will adimit to tipping Harrison to be WBO champ.
Guinn now before i start i was predicting him to be the man who takes over and beats Vitali. How wrong was i
The main point is that these did look like 3 of the most promising fighters in the heavy div. Others that could be included were sam, brock, chargev ect just shows how bad the div was and is really who could predict that in 5 years time the 2 biggest title claimaints was going to still be Vitali and Wlad
