"I've beaten better than you," contender Clinton warns world title rival
This is quite a funny video. Woods says that he has been sparring lightweight John Fewkes to help him prepare to fight light heavyweight Tavoris Cloud. Oh don't worry, Woods assures, "John Fewkes has got a lot of weight on him at the moment. He's summat like 12 stone." "He's like the same size as Cloud."

if woods doesnt get psyched out like he was with tarver he should win a tough decision

Not for me... woods is at the end of a long career, Travis will end it for him.
Woods has been totally overlooked by the british public, a virtually unknown world champion from our shores. Shame the fight with Calzaghe never came off, although at the time one feels Joe wouldve given Clinton a sound beating. not sure if Woods turned downa million to fight JOe actually, poor advice there one feels.

I don't know if anyone else read the interview in BM with Cloud (very good issue by the way, for those who haven't picked it up), but he is a hungry, hungry fighter - think Hagler on his way up and you'll get an idea of his mindset.
Unfortunately I was left in little doubt after reading that that Clinton is heading for a stoppage defeat.

It is a shame that Woods has not had more recognition, but he hasn't had the luxury of much tv but then he has never been in the premier league of the alphabet world champs
I imagine he must have earned pretty well though and that is by far the most important thing

Yeah I agree, it's the case of old guy talking himself up, saying training has gone great, but then realising he's in too deep and father time has caught up when the bell rings.
He looked like he was happy with his disappointing decision loss vs Tarver last time out, and I hardly think the ambition can suddenly come back for this one.
I have seen a little of this Cloud fellow and all the warning signs are there for a devastating KO defeat for Woods in my opinion.
To be honest Woods is an incredible lucky fighter getting all these crazy title shot opportunities time and time again...

Tough one really.
Tarvoris looks legit enough - and Clinton can be a handful on his day.
It's just the Tarver fight lingers in my mind so strong. No point going over old ground with that one.
I wish him luck, maybe he'll need it.

This will be in fact the 10th fight Clinton has had in a genuine world title contest, on top of a whole host of eliminators, Euro, Comm and Brit title fights

lets not go overboard now calling it a genuine world title contest, i know what you mean but it's a paper title in the context of the division.

No chance, I see Woods getting stopped after about 8 or 9 rounds!!! :(
I think he should have held out for a fight with someone like Glen Johnson who he has a chance of beating....
I think this Shumenov will also be a world champion soon so the division is hotting up with Dawson,Cloud,Shumenov and potential people to beat them in Johnson,Tarver and possily Woods with certain people..
Britian also has some great prospects at the weight in Cleverly too!!

I meant for the IBF title which I regard as a proper title unlike the WBU, WBF etc, but I fully agree he hasn't always been fighting the best in the world, which is the obvious reason why he has not broken into the premier league

Ever heard of a guy called Tony Bellew? Apparently he's also a good British prospect.

I'd love to see Clinton win, and Cloud is still pretty unproven, but the american has a special look about him, i think he'll get a stoppage in 8-9 rounds.
Is this going to be on TV over here?

I'd love Clinton to win this but Cloud looks the business. Unfornunately I see Clinton getting stopped on his feet, late in the fight. Cloud definitely a level above a Rico Hoye.

I've been impressed with Cloud it's a tough ask for Woods I think this fight is similiar to Witter-Alexander an old Brit fighter who should really want it against a young decent US prospect and I see it going similiar a Ud to Cloud imo

Forgive my own lack of knowledge - however I seriously doubt
some of yours -
some of you are s*cking Cloud's c*ck as if he is the second coming - he has not fought a name
who is in his prime for anyone to think such a thing - and in addition other than the really and I mean really avid boxing fan - do you honestly know that much about Cloud to jump on his train so much??
I freely acknowledge some of you have an opinion on Woods and what you perceive as his decline - however there is not many of you who know too much about Cloud to have such lofty opinions of him!!!
Honest opinion - and also TRUE!!!

But stopping Gonzo is quite impressive, don't you agree, Spuddy?

I just wanted to add a fighting tactic.
Woods did his best against Gonzalez and Glen Johnson because they came at him and he could counter-punch. Tarver wouldn't stand still and wouldn't come at him and he got dominated.
Cloud is a pressure fighter, and that is Woods best bet. Maybe he can test Cloud's chin ?
Unless Cloud makes an adjustment to work from the outside, it will give Woods his chance for success.

I know some stuff about his amateur career and have seen a few of his fights outside Gonzales. I think he will either stop Woods late or win a wide UD. Younger, stronger, arguably faster, seems to have good stamina. Still questions about his chin.
Woods is more experienced, has a lot of heart, and can take a punch, but I feel is near the end of the line and doesn't have enough in the physical department to overcome Cloud, unless the American is seriously lacking heart, which he may be since he has easily won every fight and hasn't had to dig deep yet.
