What's happening with Jamie? His career has been stalling for a while now. His promoter/manager needs to move and move fast.

Last I heard he had a european title defence lined up but had to pull out injured. He's had pretty bad luck with injuries and I'm guessing he'd rather not go into a fight injured, after what happened in the Duran fight. He posts on this forum, so hopefully you'll get an answer from the man himself sooner or later.

Fingers crossed Maloney can land him a title shot. Interestly enough, all four major champions are tricky southpaws and the fifth major name (Paul Williams) is also a southpaw. No easy way in thats for sure, though Martinez is probably the most "makeable fight" as the WBC have Jamie as no.2. Possible eliminator with no.1 Kermit Cintron?

Hi Jizzle ,

Jamie has been injured a lot in his career and last year had 2 opperations. This year he won the European title in March , defended it in May and would have also defended it in July but for another illness - 3 European title fights in under 6 months is not bad going.

We are awaiting to firm up a good fight for Jamie at the end of October and we expect him to be mandatory for the WBC by the end of the year . If that happens 2009 has been very good with 2010 looking even better.

Cheers Steve. Put like that it's not too bad. I guess it's just seems that a World title shot has been within his grasp for so long. Good luck.

Agreed but there is a depth of talent at 154lb.

I think it's a bit of a sleeper division.

WBA - Daniel Santos - Moore is not rated
WBC - Sergio Gabriel Martínez - Moore is #2
IBF - Cory Spinks - Moore is not rated
WBO - Sergiy Dzinziruk - Moore is not rated

The only option is to fight Sergio Martinez, and he could be the best of the lot. He really impressed me against Cintron. Martinez schooled him, knocked him down and was jobbed on the cards. Cintron has gone on to beat highly regarded prospect Alfredo Angulo.

Never mind jobbed on the cards, Martinez was robbed of a KO against Cintron!

It'd be a very tough act for Jamie, Martinez is quality. One thing about Moore though, I'd never, ever count him out of a fight. If the European angle isn't working out, I'd love to see him against the U.S. golden boy, Kirkland. All out war, one I'd fancy Jamie to have a very decent chance in. Definite profile builder, albeit in the realms of fantasy at this stage, I'd think.

Not in my eyes. Whilst Rhodes has been struggling with the lieks of Jamie Coyle and Vincent Vuma Jamie has been in the form of his life against PIccarillo and then the Ukranian. Jamie looked devastating in both fights.

Dont get me wrong, Ryans a good fighter, but at this stage in his career he's a level below Jamie Moore, and Jamie looks to be peaking.

But be fair, Piccirillo and Dzuman were very poor come fight-night.
