I can't actually remember a month in British boxing when they were so many consistently good match-ups. I know this is old news now, but I thought it was worth a post of it own.....

2 October Brook v Jennings
3 October Murray v Thaxton
9 October Sexton v Rogan
16 October Booth v Hunter
17 October Froch v Dirrell
23 October Moore v Rhodes

According to yesterday's Boxing News, the Brook v Jennings fight is likely to happen at the MEN arena the night before Murray v Thaxton with Degale, Gavin and Saunders also being on the bill. I'm presuming if it is at the MEN a slightly bigger name will be used for the headline fight as I would have thought the MEN would be too big a venue.

If at the MEN' what slightly bigger name could be used' As khan isn't likely to be on bill.What other show toppers do we have,Think brook and jennings is a bill topper on it's own.Prob not at the MEN though.

That is the best month of Boxing this country has ever seen I really believe that!! Yet people say boxing is dying, Well I hope it keeps dying then and we keep getting months like this to put up with!!

I'll wager Froch-Dirrell is the most entertaining fight of the lot!

It could be half-hall with the upper tier closed?

That said, The Olympians and Rogan V Skelton was at the NIA, so its certainly possibly they would try and use a full arena.

Jennings has fought at Preston Guild Hall before- how big is that? Probably too small.

In my opinion the bill as it stands now is good enough at the MEN !!!!

the only fight that I would be able to predict the winner of with certainty, would be Booth vs Hunter. it's a pretty easy win for Booth

Hope Mitchell wins wasnt that impressed with Martinez against Cook until the finishing punch I think Mitchell can win this title

i reckon the left hand side fighter for all except Rogan & Smith......not sure about the Rhodes fight....can anyone help me out with my retirement-funding accumulator ?

I haven't seen enough of either to disagree strongly, but isn't Hunter naturally far bigger?

Nothing out yet but Stan James will be first up I guess and the others will blend in as normal with minimal variations.

My guess would be Hunter will be around 7/4 or 2/1, you may get slightly bigger.

How's he looking at present, I know he's one of your favourites and be interesting to know how he looks.

Booth's movement and combinations win it for me but I don't think its anywhere near as certain as many.

Hunter will be the strongest and most aggresive Booth has fought at Super-Bantam and I think he will notice it this time.

Booth 116-112 for me.

does anyone else wonder if making superbantam will noticeably weaken Hunter?

as i recall, it was never easy for him anyway, and he's a good couple of years down the road... i did hear, his 'lifestyle choices' are better now than what they allegedly were.....

it just seems to me as in many fights like this with one fighter 'come up' to the weight and the other a career superbantam, that the weight is, umm, a dobule edged sword that could work for or against either man....?

Brook v Jennings is not on 2nd OCtober its prizefighter. What date will this be?

I'd love a bit of 2/1 about Hunter. He's been terribly inactive in recent times and has had his troubles outside the ropes but his training has been bang on for this (I watched him spar Paul Truscott recently and he looked sharp). He has also now got a nutritionist on board and is making the weight so much more easily. He's eating the right foods whereas before he was simply drying out the old fashioned way a week or so before the fight. This is a 50-50 fight for me. Booth is fit, active and battle hardened. But he's not a super-bantam and he's not a puncher. I've never seen Michael Hunter outworked in a boxing ring and I have seen every one if his fights bar one. The venue could be crucial too as there is no doubt Mick finds a bit more when boxing in the north east. Simply can't wait for this.

Will keep my eyes open for prices for you and give you a nudge if I see anything, think you will get close to 2/1 possibly a shade bigger but I could be wrong. True what you say about Hunter being outworked, it does not happen but Booth is very accurate and I can see him outscoring Hunter, even if Michael looks the busier to the naked eye.

Still if the weight is ok and his sparring is top notch then he has given himself every chance thats for sure, good fight looking forward to it.

What date will Brook fight?
