Strange question I know but they both turned pro within a year of each other both of them having good ameter credentials and both are the same age.

Lacy won his title in his 17th fight which was pretty special then went on to win 5 title fights unitl he lost vs Calzaghe the best fighter around at the time. He has since mixed in high profile company and beaten some and lost others,

Froch didn't win a title until his 24th fight but has arguably had both his title fights against better fighters than Lacy defended his IBF title against.

To this point who do you think has had a better carrer?

With wins over Pascal and Taylor, I would say that Froch has achieved more.

What was Lacy's best win?

yeah froch already clinches it.

Froch definetly, World Champion has been in 2 great fights at world level winning both and beating the well respected Jermain Taylor whereas Lacy has been showing up at world level and Froch hasnt

How would people feel about this assesment if Froch lost his next one, I think they are about on a par at the moment where as if he wins another good one he'll have over taken Lacy, Lacy did defend his title against high level opponents.

Did he? His opponents don't look very impressive on paper, not the ones he beat anyway.

Did Lacy beat anyone on the level of Pascal or Taylor? I don't think that he did.

They both fought Taylor and Froch stopped him wheras Lacy lost every round.

Froch stopped a well trained, but past it Reid, quicker than Lacy did (when Lacy was at 'his peak' wheras Froch had just recovered from ACL surgery) - and he stopped him proper.

Brian Magee stopped Lacy as an amateur. Froch was the first/ only person to KO Magee cold.

But i bet Lacy has earned more money. Shaw did a grand job of over selling him to the masses.

In fairness I thought there would be more debate about it and suspect the poll would come out differently were it on the current scene

Yeah why not!

Its almost like whose had the better career- Tony Ayalia or Alan Minter. Lacy looked great in 2005, showing far more potential than Froch has done... but really against shot fighters - and his struggles with Sheika and Vanderpol were more realistic of his talent, then blow out wins over Reid and Pemberton... excellent call by Glen McCory there - one of the few times he stuck his neck out and said Calzaghe will beat Lacy easy - and that was after Lacy blew away Pemberton.

Excellent hype job, but no real substance. Froch isn't a great champion, but he is a solid dependable champion with better wins and equal wins done in as good fashion.

Froch for sure.

Anyone who votes for Lacy either has a problem with Froch or is a Lacy fan. Froch has clearly beaten better opponents in Pascal and Taylor than anyone Lacy has ever defeated. His four title defenses were against fringe contenders.

If the question was "Who was supposed to have the better career" it wouldve been Lacy.

I think Froch will go on to achieve more, there is a very strong argument that he allreay has, but at the end of the day, a pro career is about earning money and Lacy must have earned well over £5 million, will froch? Only time will tell.

Lacy did do one thing that Froch couldn't, get a fight with Calzaghe
