I managed to catch 5 mins of a re-ran ESPN's Friday Fight night, and it stated that the fight between Tavoris Cloud and Clinton Woods will be shown on it - does anyone know what time this fight will start.

I've looked on ESPN's website and it wasnt the most helpful, it looks only slightly more updated than Frank Warrens pitiful effort of a website

Its not this friday but the next isn't it. It'll probably be shown on ESPN UK on the saturday daytime (probably about 2.30pm) and repeated about 9.30pm saturday night like the last 2 weeks.

Its actually a really good card on ESPN....

Tavoris Cloud vs. Clinton Woods, 12 rounds, for vacant IBF light heavyweight title

There will be good quality Live Streams for these Fights so you will be able to watch it Live over the internet no problem.

Does Channel 5 show any boxing now?

Well thats not really true...if i'm gonna watch it online, i can watch Live Streams for Free that are good Quality and stable rather than Pay for it.

If this was being shown on ESPN HD television than i would have been happy to have Paid £5/10 to see one of my Fave Boxers Tavouris Cloud win his 1st World Title :)

Changing the record, i hear ESPN will be filming Froch, Tyson Fury etc tomorrow at Liberty gym in Nottingham.

Maybe they'll try for the super six?

However, how would that work because in America, ESPN and Showtime compete for the same market.

Interesting stuff. As showtime don't broadcast in the UK though I can't see that it would be a problem. I don't think even in the US that they are really competitors as such because showtime is 'premium' cable (ie paid for seperately) isn't it, like HBO?

And ESPN recently showed the Witter/Alexander and Bradley/Campbell bill (delayed) which was a Showtime broadcast.

Yeah well the good news is that the Witter vs Alexander Fight was their Highest Rated Show on the First Day of ESPN broadcasting in Britain so that would have opened their eyes to Boxings potential.

It seems CRAZY that they are not showing Woods vs Cloud LIVE on British ESPN..how hard could it have been to Pump the Live Feed over from ESPN 2 to British ESPN?...they would have Picked up a few subscribers that way and the British TV rights for the Fight must of been Dirt cheap.

ESPN UK are running on the Sky platform, not as a competitor to Sky, unlike Setanta.
They have shown no interest whatsoever in UK boxing.
The delayed fights you see have already been paid for in USA and do not compete with the Sky trademark.
I cant see that changing.
If they were remotely interested in doing anything, they had the ideal oppertunity to do a deal with Hayemaker as soon as they took over Setanta.
Haye himself signed to Sky.
That tells you everything.

What do you mean 26? ESPN didn't 'take over setanta', they just picked up some of their rights when they went bust. I'm still optomistic we'll see more boxing, but you are right that they have positioned themselves as complementary rather than competitor to Sky. Doesn't mean no live boxing though, they are still finding their feet.
