Ah good man, i've been tying to find out more about the World Championships and what fighters are going from each country. I've actually posted a thread on the amateur page about it.

I got an idea, lets drop a few of the weight divisions and let some women compete in their place!

I hope that Kenny Egan can avoid bull$hit decisions such as the one that denied him Gold in Beijing and come away from the championships a world champion. :TU:

That would be utterly mental Coco - surely no one would ever sanction such a laughable idea?... :-?

I appreciate boxing people would not sanction this laughable idea, but perhaps that is the problem, we need some non boxing people in, so that women will be given the chance, the International Olympic Commission perhaps!

On that note, does anyone know which divisions are being sacrificed at the Olympics?

Starts on 1st of September I think. I doubt there will be much TV coverage - we are too busy giving 5 hours a day over to athletics to have a half hour for boxing - oh yeaj and three day eventing needs its slot as well.

I would say that the BBC might show a half hour programme covering highlight of the finals. Not sure what if any RTE's plans are.
