Not sure I agree with it, but Teddy makes a fairly compelling case for why Cotto is going to lose.

I really don't think that Cotto is damaged goods, I just don't think he would have made it through a whole nine rounds with one eye if he was.

He's definitely a loose cannon is Atlas, he takes offence before the other guy even has a chance to speak. Stalking Donny Lalonde with a gun, ready to kill him, because he'd gone with another trainer...what a nut bar.

Agree with his take on Cotto though, harsh as it sounds, I reckon he might be damaged goods, when it comes to taking on someone like Manny. Brave as hell against Clottey, but he looked like a fighter old before his time. Real shame if that's all down to Margarito loading his gloves, allegedly.

I like his view on the Cotto v Pacquio fight, i'm not quite as convinced as he is on the result, but still, i think he's in the right ball park when saying Cotto has seen better days, much better days! If he was still the same fighter he was 3 years ago i'd pick him to win, but against Clottey he looked a shadow of himself and the Pac Man may just do a number on him. Pacquio starts fast, Cotto not so fast, he was caught early against Judah who's a southpaw just like Paquio, and to be honest, had Judah not started rolling aroun d on the floor like a child moments later, who knows how the rest of that round would have panned out. One things for sure, if Pacquio gets him early like Judah did, he'll be in a world of trouble!

Got to be honest here and I am not sure where so many people are getting the Idea that Cotto is damaged goods, his eye injury against Clottey was a bad one, he had an "out" at the end of the fourth if he wanted and would have been ahead on the cards at that time. He did'nt take it and did enough in the remaining rounds to win the fight for me. Clottey is decent, in fact very decent and Cotto must have been doing something right to keep him under reasonable control, apart from a couple of rounds.

Wins over Mosley and Judah, hard fought but clear enough are cracking results, Margarito wise, I thought he was in control early and although I have no evidence (re this fight) that the gloves were loaded, there must be a hell of a chance they were, so I can forgive him that fight.

His performance against Jennings was measured and clearly a rehabilitation exercise after the Margarito loss and tidy enough.

I genuinely think he is not only going to beat Pacquiao but stop him and possibly quite early on. I don't think Pac, (whom I admire greatly and respect enormously) has been hit cleanly by any of the guys around this weight and I honestly don't think he will respond well when he is.

The body attack from Cotto is key for me, if he can get to Pac's body without taking numerous head shots as he goes downstairs then he can stop Manny with basket shots.

Whilst we are all trying to get an angle on the fight, one of the most telling things for me is Roach insisting on the 145lbs angle, he is worried, irrespective of what he tells the public, I genuinely believes he thinks this is Manny's greatest test and by some considerable way.

He wants every advantage he can get for his fighter and quite rightly but if you genuinely believe your guy wins easily, you don't risk losing the fight and millions by insisting on the 145lb scenario.

Marquez in March 2008 was the last time Manny had a real fight, Diaz, DLH and Hatton were all one sided affairs, (as it turned out) and at the risk of enormous egg on the face, he is going to be in a fight here and I think he is outgunned, I genuinely do and have been backing Cotto every week since the lines opened on the fight and will continue to do so right up until fight night.

i have put my money where my mouth is with a big accumulator with a cotto win. I honestly think people are reading too much in the cotto is shot thing.. in his last fight his eye was knackered and no matter what anyone says that was a hinderence, i honestly think his body work has the beating of pac man. When manny fought Hatton, whe hatton got in close he looked like if he could of held on he could of done damage.

Teddy Atlas is a fantastic knowledge on boxing. I have not read the interview - but can guess he has real substance to whatever claim he is making.

My guess is, that Cotto will destroy Pacman in sensational fashion. Roach is gambling that Cotto is spoiled goods like ODLH was .. this time I think he has got it wrong.

You better be careful with your money mate because Pacman can knock Cotto spark out if he lands cleanly.This is NOT a fight to be betting on. Cotto is going to find it hard to find Pacman and will be eating hard shots on the way in. The reason Pacman made DLH and Hatton look like absolute BUMS in the ring is because of his footwork.. and that is going to be a huge advantage on fight night. Few fighters can come to terms with Pacmans ability to throw power punches while he is moving very fast in any direction.

i for one dont, and whilst cotto was staggered by mosley with flush power shots, he rallied, and fired back in response.

like marquez, i dont think cotto will allow pacman to dominate without taking return fire, and pacman will find himself in a proper fight against a bigger stronger man.

I think the difference between Pacquiao and the Mosley that Cotto fought is Pacquiao throws so many punches in bunches and he throws them all the time. The Mosley of today is a lot more measured than he was in his lightweight days and he's never had the workrate that Pacquiao, even if he does have more power. Cotto won't have nearly as much time to think in this fight.

If we all looked at it from that perspective nobody would give Pacquio a chance. We have to assume that Judah also hits harder than Pacquio, but neither Mosley or Judah have the fleet of foot that Pacquio has. Neither do Mosley or Judah throw the punches in bunches like the Pac Man does, and with such devestating accuracy.

The key element in this fight for me is can Pacquio take Cotto's power, because above 130, he has yet to take a flush shot to the chin or body. If he can cope, Cotto is done for IMO, but if he cant, Cotto stands a good chance. But, even with that, will Cotto be able to get his shots of and test Pacquio's metal, thats what i'm struggling to decide on. I can envision Pacquio blasting him out inside the first few rounds without Cotto laying a glove on him. To be honest, the more i watch of both Pacquio and Cotto's recent fights, the more i am leaning towards Pacquio by KO. I think he might just be to fast and accurate for Cotto.

The most annoying thing about this fight for me is that i wont get to see it live. Got a holiday with the wife and friends booked for that time

i think cotto will give pac a good fight.

the morales 1st fight method is one cotto could try.

keep it tight for the incoming fire and pick and choose the moments to attack.

cotto has to pace himself better for me.

against clottey he threw the kitchen sink and a sack of hammers at clottey in that 5th rd.

but down the stretch he was blowing thru his arse.

pac's gets stronger as the fight goes on these days.
