The mouth-watering all-British Liverpool super-middleweight title clash between Paul Smith and Tony Quigley will take place on October 30 at the Liverpool Echo Arena - with another blockbuster domestic showdown sharing top billing. Kell Brook's eagerly anticipated British welterweight title defence against Michael Jennings will also go ahead on the same card. "These are two cracking fights that everyone has been talking about," said promoter allegedly. "I'm delighted to be putting them on. "Local pride will be at stake when Smith takes on Quigley, and I'm expecting a cracker, while Brook-Jennings is a War of the Roses that's also a potential classic.."

At a London press conference today, Smith said that he's delighted that his challenge for Quigley's title will go ahead in the pair's home city.

"Liverpool has been buzzing since this fight was announced," he said.

"People are stopping me in the street asking me about the fight and I can't wait.

"I've always said that given the right opponent and the right fight, people are going to see the best of me, and that's going to happen on October 30.

"Quigley's been mouthing off about recently and I can't wait to shut him up and take his title away."

Brook, who has recently won a Lonsdale belt outright with a string of KO victories, is also looking forward to his clash with Jennings.

"There's no way that Michael is getting his hands on my title," he said. "He's a good fighter and very experienced but I'll be too quick and too strong."

Jennings said: "Kell's a nice lad and I'm not going to bad mouth about him, but I know how to beat him and I'll be too experienced."

october is a huge month of boxing! froch vs dirrell..murray vs thaxton..moore vs rhodes..macklin challenging for ebu title..booth vs hunter..brook vs jennings smith vs quigley..and some more i cant remember

Never official and clashed with Sky schedule for Prizefighter.

Seems to be improving his shows for this "season" Warren. Maybe worried with all the TV coverage falling by the wayside, knows he needs to step it up?

Can't wait for this. I'm definitely attending. Smith-Quigley couldn't have took place anywhere else, the styles of both fighters will make this a cracking fight, really can't wait. Hopefully with Stephen Smith and Bellew on the card it will be the best show we have had here in years. The echo arena is some venue, I went to see the Ozzie Pink Floyd there recently and was very impressed by it.

It will be the best FFN in ages 2 great domestic fights should be a great night of boxing lets hope it all goes through without hassle

It would be shocking if they never showed both fights. Both fights could top bills by them selve surely they will show them

Hattons Hayemakers and Matchroom you all have a long way to go to catch Mr W up. For big shows he is the MAN. And i have worked with most of them from Duff to Matchroom.Hve not worked with Hatton, Hayemaker or Mr H but i know people who have.

hatton promotions have a contract with sky!!! it starts when macklin fights for the european title mate he has a 5 year contract..sky knw that hatton has the ££££££ to become britains best promoter..plus they owe him for all the money he has made sky..sky only come to the party when £££ flash infront of there eyes..quite pathetic to be honest..they are so rich..yet they are depriving us of our only wbc champion!! the cobra..plus sky should just get contracts with hennessey and hayemaker as itv have cancelled hennessey and hayemaker havnt got a tv deal
